In The Movie They Are Seen As Not Happy And Miserable, But Then At The End, The Trolls Teach Them To Be Happy
Nikki, Kaltag and Star are often mistaken as ripoffs of the hyenas from The Lion King when they're not, as there is no proof of them being ripoffs. You also gotta admit that Steele treated these three poorly, no wonder why Balto saved them and let them help him bring the medicine back to a town full of sick children.
Misunderstood because of the whole debate about what species he is. Pheasant or bird of prey? It doesn't matter. While it is true that his colors were inspired by the pheasant in Japanese folklore, the same interview suggests that he might be a falcon, hence his name. Although he also looks like a red-throated caracara, we still don't know what his true species is until maybe a future Star Fox game or a book on Star Fox's characters/world is to be made.
It seems that not everyone is familiar with F-Zero, sadly. Thus, most people nowadays know him more from as the fighter from Super Smash Bros. who goes "FALCON PUNCH! " on everyone as opposed to the main protagonist from the F-Zero games. It also don't help that Nintendo hasn't made a new F-Zero game in AGES, so hopefully they will soon if they get enough fan support to do so. It's really a good series, and at least the games are available on the Virtual Console, so that's better than nothing.
Simply because of the whole "Wait, Metroid is a girl? " fiasco people had for years. No, her name is not Metroid, and yes, she's a girl. The game's name actually came from one of the enemies she fights. (the one who appears as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. no less) Not every game series is named after the protagonist, you know what I mean.
Four words: SHE IS NOT SEXY. The furry fandom has ruined Renamon big time and completely misunderstood who she really is. She is a Digimon, not a sex symbol. Heck, Renamon is actually more masculine-looking than sexy, and she is even a male character rather than female in one of the anime's European dubs, so I don't know what makes her such a turn on for most furries.
Often mistaken as a "good guy" by the fandom when, like the other animatronics in Five Nights At Freddy's, he is one of the antagonists, not a "good guy", while the protagonist in the game is a human security guard.
Foxy is cool and all, it is perfectly fine to like any of the FNAF series animatronics, but you also have to accept them as who they are, so liking them would be no different than liking, say, Bowser or Dr. Robotnik a.k.a. Eggman.
Seriously, he is not a bishonen. Wolf is as masculine as Fox. (Perhaps even moreso because Wolf is a bit taller and more muscular than Fox and even Falco) He doesn't deserve to be bishie-fied just because he's the rival or "evil counterpart" to the heroic main character. Also, Fox and Wolf are rivals, not lovers.
Misunderstood all because of a silly pairing war. Dusty is mistaken as Kodi's love interest when in fact, she already has a mate, Ralph. It's just that the writers of the film didn't have time to put scenes in to explore this.
