Best MLB Pitchers of the 1960s

The Top Ten
1 Sandy Koufax
2 Bob Gibson
3 Juan Marichal
4 Don Drysdale
5 Jim Bunning

Bunning's manager for the Phillies Gene Mauch once said, "He's 200 pounds of pride. He takes care of himself, likes money, loves his family, has a great arm and a great delivery." He never once played in a post season, but Bunning was a great complete pitcher whose fame was winning 224 games including 2 no-hitters. One of which came on Father's Day 1964 and here he faced the Mets on his day Father's Day and not only he pitched a no-hitter, but he also pitched a perfect game, a great baseball moment.

11 Denny McLain

Here's a case of missed opportunities for this could've been icon of Major League Baseball especially those 2 years back-to-back 1968 and 1969. 1968 was the year of the pitcher and he was the center point of that year. Since spitball was outlawed by Major League Baseball only 2 pitchers have won 30 or more games in a season. Dizzy Dean in 1934 and this man in 1968. Oddly enough in both of those years, their teams won the world championship. The sad tragedy was that McLain only won 1 game in the 1968 world series, an omen of things to come.
