Top Ten Best Modern Rappers

Rappers who recently have had immense popularity and are well received by both the audience and critics.
The Top Ten
1 Kendrick Lamar Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American rapper and songwriter. Raised in Compton, California, Lamar embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage name K-Dot, releasing a mixtape that garnered local attention and led to his signing with indie record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

True artist who actually has a message in his songs instead of following the status quo. Not to mention he still has a good beat in the song and still be able to reach a wider audience. He's also not ashamed to rap about what he believes in and be honest about himself and not make up this image about him being a gang banger or thug!

Listen to songs like "How much a dollar cost" or "DNA" (or Poetic justice) if you really want to understand what I'm talking about!

I dare say he is THE GREATEST EVER along with 2pac and biggie

Decent and interesting rapper, but extremely overrated...

Is basically the living embodiment of 2pac

2 J. Cole Jermaine Lamarr Cole, better known by his stage name J. Cole, is an American hip hop recording artist and record producer.

Fantastic rapper and producer, at least top 3. in my opinion Drake, Tyga, and Kanye are very overrated and the top 3 should be:
1. Kendrick
2. Cole
3. Rocky

Tyga is number 3. I voted jermaine because he obviously won't beat k.dot but it's worth trying to get him to number two.

Second Best Dude. Simply put, he carries on traditional hiphop

How is Cole this low on the list

3 Logic Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, better known as Logic, is one of the most influential artists in the rap game today. He was Born on January 22, 1990, in Gaithersburg, Maryland and first gained major fame through making 2013's edition of the XXL Top-10 Freshmen List and has easily become the most successful in that entire class (Only Schoolboy Q, Joey Badass and Chief Keef come close). Logic even got more popular in 2017, when he released his song, 1-800-273-8255. It was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Music Video and the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. It also reached number 1 on the billboard charts. It was on his album, Everybody.

We keep it real no false rap

4 Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem has sold over 300 million records making him the bestselling hip-hop artist of all time. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5'9") half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil. Rolling Stone ranked him 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the King of Hip Hop. Including his work with D12 and Bad Meets Evil, Eminem has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and 5 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and 13 worldwide.

Sorry to sound a bit cliché adding him, but he's pretty damn good. And I'm not a fan of rap. (I do enjoy 2pac better than him though.)

5 A$AP Rocky Rakim Mayers, better known by his stage name ASAP Rocky, is an American rapper, record producer, director and actor from Harlem, New York.

Too low on the list, how is he not at the top five at least?

"I made the cut, like a pack of blades
You can call me brush, I've been making' waves"
Why isn't this dude higher on this list
