Top 10 Modern SpongeBob Episodes That Would Give Kids NightmaresIf you are a parent and you're reading this right now, I highly recommend you watch these episodes to see how truly inappropriate Spongebob Squarepants has gotten these days.
The Top Ten
The entire episode is dedicated to trying to gross the viewer out as we get disturbing close-ups of SpongeBob's splinter, complete with swelling, irritation, and green puss oozing out of it. Definitely skip
It's just a mess of grotesque animation and makes SpongeBob's into a complete ass towards Gary. And even when Gary is about to be eaten, SpongeBob STILL continues to treat Gary as the bully. Paul Tibbet, less of this please
A Pal for Gary rocked! I loved that episode!
This list has "Soccermom" and "Mr. Enter fanboy" written all over it. - NikBrusk
While most if the episode is innocent enough, the toenail scene in enough to make ANYONE cringe as we see SpongeBob drop the sofa leg on Squidward's tentacle and continue to push it in further as we see the toenail get squishes in until a chunk of flesh finally gets ripped off.
I like it but not the toenail incident - Officialpen
Nightmares about killing yourself. This is the worst episode of SpongeBob in season 7, worst in the entire show. - Goatworlds
The episode is dedicated to Mr. Krabs torturing Plankton after finding about his fear of whales from a family flashback, and uses it to torture him phisically, mentally, make him filled with paranoia, give him nightmares, and even drives him to suicide. That's NOT ok Nick, by far the worst episode in modern cartoon historyV 1 Comment
Would have been completely fine, but then, they pulled the face.
SpongeBob asks a stranger if He's ugly, amd we see a filthy, crusty, tiny-eyed closeup of SpongeBob with a snot bubble being blown from his nose
Top three should be 3. Are you happy now? 2. The splinter 1. THIS
This should not be on a kids show, ever.
The entire episode is dedicated to SpongeBob and patrick having disturbing faces, complete with close-up detailV 1 Comment
This is from 2001 lol - SonicAdam
That's not a Modern episode.
The episode is mainly criticized for the closeups of the horseflies
This episode gave me a nightmare once and the episode was reborn in my dream THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE MAKE THAT FOR KIDS LIKE SERIOUSLY? Does the creator want Kids to get scared out of their minds. I watched this well HALF of it and after that I said "Let's pretend I never saw that.".
At the end patrick says hold the mayo and there is scary music with a card saying the end? - RockStarr
This will scare kids! P.S it's the episode AFTER "Are You Happy Now? ".V 1 Comment
Not scary to adults, but I can see how it could affect the younger kids.
How is this creepier than are you happy now?
The episode is dedicated to the battle between filthy amd clean with SpongeBob amd patrick rolling around in dumpsters amd patrick using Krabby patties as shows. Not so much disturbing as is filthyV 2 Comments
That episode is literally not happy. While the suicide-like scenes weren't directly attempts (unlike One Coarse Meal), it doesn't take a psycho to see that it's a suicide innuendo. :I But then again, 2 fish killed themselves with a hook in Something Smells, even though I like that episode. - CesiumV 1 Comment
This was an older one - Goatworlds
The episode isn't too bad other than the fact that squidward amd SpongeBob are merged together. However in the last couple of minutes, the seperation machine malnfunctions and causes Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Pearl to become merged into this grotesque blob
