Very intense moments after Kocoum gets shot and John Smith is taken prisoners by the natives and set for execution and with tensions already high between the two groups they prepare to go to war with one another with each side referring to one another as SAVAGES claiming neither side can be trusted as Ratcliff leads the charge to rescue Smith though he's more interested in getting the gold and the natives prepare to execute John Smith.
Right as Smith is about to be executed Pocahontas throws herself on top of him stopping the execution claiming she loves him and tells her father Chief Powhatan to see what the path of hatred has brought them and asks him to choose his own path which leads to both the natives and settlers to cease their fighting.
After seeing John Smith kiss Pocahontas who is his fiancee Kocoum goes into a violent rage attacking Smith as he attempts to kill him while Pocahontas tries to restrain him.

Even after both sides made peace with on another Governor Radcliff still insists on attack and fires his gun at Chief Powhatan before Smith throws himself and is hit instead as the settlers turn on him capturing him and sending him back to England to await punishment for his high treason.
