Most Dangerous Dogs

The Top Ten
1 American Pit Bull Terrier

I disagree. All the pit bulls my sister and I have had had been the sweetest dogs ever. They are protective of us and her child. They love to snuggle. And give the best kisses

Thank you, people are finally seeing the true nature of pit bulls and seeing that they are actually terrible dogs.

Pitbulls have a false reputation. Pitbulls are extremely friendly if you treat it well. I'm not saying pitbulls aren't dangerous, because any animal can bring out it's wild side, but they don't deserve all the bad press.

They maul babies! How are they not dangerous?!

2 Rottweiler The Rottweiler is a breed of domestic dog, regarded as medium-to-large or large. The dogs were known in German as Rottweiler Metzgerhund, meaning Rottweil butchers' dogs, because one of their uses was to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat to market.

Rotties are great dogs and very friendly. People think they are mean and aggressive because of the irresponsible idiots that get them and don't know how to raise them. My Bailey was the friendliest dog you would ever meet. He was a 130 pound goofy lap dog. I miss you and love you Bailey!

First of all, dogs aren't dangerous unless that's how you train them to be, or there poorly trained. Second if you were to research correctly, you would find that the pitbull would be second on a "dangerous" dog list. Rottweiler is and was the most dangerous dog to step foot on this earth. There popularity arose in the 80's. The Rottweiler is strong, has the strongest bite force of any dog, and is very smart. The olny thing the pitbull has against the rott is that's its quicker and has more stamina. If the fight goes for more than 5min, then that rott is done, put the Rottweiler is too smart for that. The rotts were actually considered the most dangerous dog in the world back in the day, until pitbulls became more popular. Point is, rottweilers are more dangerous than the pit. Pits might have more attacking records but I've seen with my own eyes (poor dogs, I'm 100% up against dog fighting) the two dogs being forced to fight. 80% of the time, that pitbull was dead 20% the pit one. ...more

Okay, first of all, Rottweilers are only aggressive if you don't take care of them well enough. And second, I own a Rottweiler and he's REALLY well-behaved, and is a loyal friend to me. But I do agree on how they can be dangerous at times, my Randy can get a little feisty at dog parks. - Joshtiiton24

Actually, Rottweiler should be first place. They're way more dangerous than Pit Bulls.

3 German Shepherd The German Shepherd is a breed of medium to large-sized working dog that originated in Germany. The breed's officially recognized name is German Shepherd Dog in the English language. The breed is known as the Alsatian in Britain and Ireland.

I've owned 2 German Shepherds during my lifetime & neither of them were at all dangerous. They were the most gentle, quiet & so devoted dogs. Great with children too.

They're used as police dogs because they can be trained so well as sniffer dogs & security dogs. I've never heard of a German Shepherd killing someone. Maybe the people who've been attacked have been cruel to German Shepherd dogs & people who are cruel to dogs - any dogs - deserve to be duly punished.

German Shepherds are NOT dangerous. If they're police dogs, they're trained to catch criminals. To have as a pet, they need basic training like every other dog. They have the sweetest nature, very loyal, devoted, great with children and your best friend. I've owned 2 German Shepherds and I'd never own another breed of dog. They're the best of the best.

German Shepherds only become hostile, angry dogs if they're not properly trained the ones I've seen are actually pretty friendly and gentle.

German shepards are very good dogs. But they can be very fierce and I think that they are suppirior to all the other dogs. One reason is they have abetter sense of smell and they are smarter that any other dog. They are bigger and stronger than pittbulls. No wonder they are army dogs.

4 Kangal Dog

I think No. 1 position should be reserved for kangal. Because they trained to kill not fight.
But to befrank I have seen a fight between kangal and rottweiler. Both a large breed dogs with similar strength...but kangal had more agility. So he has the upperhand.

Ok I admit, a manual is more dangerous than a pit bull, but pit bulls are more aggressive and have a want to kill everything they see.

5 Doberman Pinscher The Doberman Pinscher, or Dobermann, or Doberman, is a medium-large breed of domestic dog originally developed around 1890 by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector from Germany.

This is one dog you don't want to get angry. Be patient owners who have this breed.

Doberman is the only dog which can't be compared by anydogs. So may be it can beat any of the dogs including kangal, rottweiler, etc.
Best dog for farmhouses... Agility is damn good.

6 Siberian Husky The Siberian Husky is a medium size, dense-coat working dog breed that originated in north-eastern Siberia.

Huskies are so nice! I have two, and they are so sweet. The only reason that a Siberian Husky would attack someone is because they were trained to or if they were provoked.

One came after my basset hound and almost bit me! They are very cute but dangerous!

7 Alaskan Malamute The Alaskan Malamute is a large breed of domestic dog originally bred for hauling heavy freight because of their strength and endurance, and later a sled dog.

I have a 2 Alaskan malamute Siberian husky mix and they are not dangerous

8 Boxer The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired breed of dog, developed in Germany. The coat is smooth and tight-fitting; colours are fawn, mahogany, black or brindled, with or without white markings, and white.

I've never heard of a boxer attacking someone. There the best dogs

9 Chow Chow The Chow Chow is a dog breed originally from northern China, where it is referred to as Songshi Quan, which means "puffy-lion dog".

They are basically lions but less aggressive but still aggressive.

10 Dalmatian The Dalmatian is a breed of large dog, noted for its unique black or liver spotted coat and mainly used as a carriage dog in its early days.
The Contenders
11 Presa Canario The Perro de Presa Canario, A.K.A. the Canary Mastiff, is a large Molosser-type dog breed originally bred for working livestock.

Pros:
- They are very protective of their owners, and will do anything for them
- They have very loud barks and can scare away intruders
- They are loyal to their owners and will do anything for them

Cons:
- They are very aggressive towards strangers
- They will turn on their owners (on a VERY rare occasion)
- They look freakish and people mistake them as a Pitbull mix.

It's like a Rottweiler, but bigger and stronger.

12 Cane Corso A breed of Italian origin, the Cane Corso is a large and powerful mastiff used for guarding property and as a companion animal. It has a short coat and is distinguished by its keen intelligence and trainable nature.

This breed could kill a Pitbull, Dalmatian, Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Doberman, Rottweiler, Bulldog, and a Canary Mastiff hands down.

13 Caucasian Shepherd The Caucasian Shepherd Dog is a large breed of dog that is popular in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and North Caucasus area.

Most stranger allergic dog... So better stay away from these dogs

14 Shih Tzu A shih tzu also known as the Chrysanthemum Dog, is a toy dog breed, weighing 10 - 12 pounds when full grown, with long silky hair.

My friend has a Shih Tzu but he's really friendly and gentle. He basically only barks whenever I arrive at my friends house just to greet me in.

15 Shiba Inu

Shiba Inus are only aggressive if you don't train them properly. But they are really stubborn dogs.

They're pretty mean.

16 Wolf-Dog Hybrid

These are probably more dangerous than pit bulls because they are half wolf, which are despicable animals.

17 Jack Russell Terrier The Jack Russell Terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting. It is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated.
18 Chihuahua The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog and is named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. Chihuahuas come in a wide variety of sizes, head shapes, colors, and coat lengths. While they can sometimes be aggressive, Chihuahuas can also be lovable, especially if trained from birth or known from a young age.

Never met a chihuahua that not is aggressive!

These dogs are mean

19 Great Dane The Great Dane is a large German breed of domestic dog known for its giant size. The German name of the breed is Deutsche Dogge, or German Mastiff.

I once broke a bone because of one.

20 Bull Terrier The Bull Terrier is a breed of dog in the terrier family. There is also a miniature version of this breed which is officially known as the Miniature Bull Terrier.

I hate these dogs. People only keep them because they look non-aggressive, but they really are. They look ugly as hell and will attack anyone, no matter how hard they're trained. They would probably fly 50000000 miles into space just to bite a toddler (if that ever happens).

21 Yorkshire Terrier The Yorkshire Terrier is a small dog breed of terrier type, developed during the 19th century in Yorkshire, England, to catch rats in clothing mills.
22 Saluki The Saluki is a dog breed originating in the Fertile Crescent. The Saluki is classed as a sighthound and is typically deep-chested and long-legged.
23 English Bulldog

25 Bullmastiff The Bullmastiff is a large-size breed of domestic dog, with a solid build and a short muzzle. The Bullmastiff shares the characteristics of molosser dogs, and was originally developed by 19th-century gamekeepers to guard estates.
