Most Dangerous States In the USA

The Top Ten
1 Louisiana

No, Washington DC is the murder capital of the USA which also happens to BE the capital of the USA.

Louisiana should be 2 or 1 because it's murder capital of USA

Lower than Texas and Michigan? How?

2 New Mexico

New Mexico is a pretty poor state, it ranks last in a lot of categories and its very rural. Albuquerque has a gang problem, theres alot of native poverty as well, which is sad because this is their land. Santa Fe is nicer, its more wealthy

A guy who was in a corner of his moms basement, hates sauerkraut. So he moves to Albuquerque, his plane crashes and he drags himself the hotel, rents a hotel room, then has a guy that looks like Mike Score from Flock Of Seagulls break into the apartment, steal his favorite snorkel, then they have a little sing off with the operator. He then vowed to get his snorkel back, after that he is trying to get a doughnut and instead gets a box of face eating weasels, witch lead him to find his girl friend and future waifu, who then goes and buys a house, has two kids, then breaks up with him. He then gets a job and puts out a fire with his face, every one is jealous and he ends up cutting a guys arms and legs off, and in the end all this
Cause he hates sauerkraut

This should be #1

3 South Carolina South Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state is bordered to the north by North Carolina, to the south and west by Georgia across the Savannah River, and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

I live here and I don't think it's dangerous at all! It's Georgia that scares me...

4 Michigan

Detroit is very ghetto, it's the worst city in America. Very sad history. Outside of Detroit, the cities are not doing that well. What's Grand Rapids? Its sad, its a beautiful state with tons of lakes..but a lot of its towns suck...your best bet is to live outside of the city of Detroit

I find it rude how Michigan is #1. It is solely a stereotype that Michigan is dangerous. Detroit, Saginaw, and Flint may have their bad areas, but come on people, give us some slack. West Michigan is one of the most safe places to live in. Ottawa County was ranked healthiest county in the US recently, and the beaches are beautiful. Visiting the UP is like visiting an untouched place, and some areas of the state are especially great in this state, such as Grand Rapids, Most of the West Lakeshore, the UP, and the quaint little towns in between everything. Michigan is a great place to live or tour, so stop saying Michigan is the most dangerous state.
But like any other state, Michigan has some places to avoid, these are areas of Flint, Detroit, Sagimaw, and Muskegon.
So all who think Michigan is dangerous, think again.

Why can't people just understand that only cities like Detroit and Flint are bad? Just visit a city like Traverse City or Grand Rapids and you'll change your mind! I've lived in Michigan my entire life and it's been fine! I don't understand what makes Michigan so dangerous. People who say that Michigan is the most dangerous state have either only been to Detroit or Flint, have heard stories about Detroit or Flint, or have never even been to Michigan.

I've lived in Michigan my whole life. I never was threatened in any way. Really, only Detroit and Flint are dangerous. TECHNICALLY I live in Detroit (I live in Northville, which is on the outskirts of Metro Detroit), and I never ever saw a crime scene. So whoever voted for this... seriously?! Detroit and Flint don't REPRESENT THE WHOLE STATE (not even close). I think I would know if I actually lived in North Ohio, rather than Michigan. I'm on the verge of ranting right now...

5 Tennessee Tennessee is a state located in the southeastern United States. Tennessee is the 36th largest and the 17th most populous of the 50 United States.

Memphis is pretty bad, its kind of ratchet. Nashville has its bad parts but its growing really fast. East Tennessee is super redneck and white trash, racist, bigoted cops.

My visit to Nashville and the rural parts of Tennessee were trouble-free. The only reason why it has so much crime is because of Memphis and Knoxville. Just stay away from those two cities and you will be fine. I encourage you to come visit. There is so much to do, beautiful natural areas, lots of history, and the nicest people you will ever meet.

Been statistically at the top for bad for God knows how long.

I agree it has the most crime it should be number 1

6 Arkansas Arkansas is a state located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Its name is of Siouan derivation, denoting the Quapaw Indians.

Its a small state, its pretty rural and boring, has alot of poverty as well. Little Rock is small but it has a crime problem. Pine Bluff is gross, and the Ozarks are trashy

Arkansas should be at number one, It has one of the highest assault and other violent crime rates in the country.

Has some of the most dangerous cities and towns per capita. Absolute disgrace.

I'm from here its not actually too bad

7 Texas Texas is a state in the Southern USA. It is the second largest by area and population. Its largest city is Houston.

The big cities all have crime. Especially Houston (Ewwston) Rural Texas I'm sure has it's share of issues...stupid rednecks

Do people have any proof of this? I mean this state has a low crime rate

Gun nuts and religious psychopaths

Enough said

8 Alaska Alaska is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the Americas. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east; it has a maritime border with Russia to the west across the Bering Strait.

Alaska has a lot of crime, even though its not very populated. its very dangerous for women, cause it's more men then women, and the men don't know how to respect women. A lot of native poverty as well, native women are especially vulnerable, very sad. Has a high suicide rate and alot of guns

9 Missouri Missouri is a state located in the Midwestern United States. It is the 21st most extensive, and the 18th most populous of the fifty states.

St. Louis and Kansas City have a lot of crime. Rural MO has a lot of drugs and crazy rednecks

There was a lot of outlaw there...

10 Indiana
The Contenders
11 Florida Florida is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. Florida is the southeasternmost U.S. state, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other.

I grew up in Orlando before "Mickey Mouse"; it was a great place at that time.
It has progressively gone down hill...I would never move back!

Crime ridden and you don't hear about most of it since the big mouse hides most of it. don't be fooled by the palm trees, this state is one of the worst

Definitely the worst, lived there my whole life and every other place does not compare.

Most corrupt building inspectors in the country -- case in point, the Miami building collapse. Awful state

12 Oklahoma

They get the most tornadoes out of any state in the US. Two EF 5 tornadoes have hit the city of Moore so far.

Oklahoma is home to serial killers and among the deadliest of tornadoes.

Oklahoma you say? Don't tell stories. Oklahoma isn't dangerous. Arkansas is.

It's the best state ever

15 Kentucky Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States.

A high death rate in eastern Kentucky.. Water is horrible there too.

One of the safest...

17 Arizona Arizona is a U.S. state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western and the Mountain states.

It is pretty darn dangerous. I live here and the wildlife is very dangerous. It is totally meant to be on the list

I love this state its amazing and the coyotes live there (NHL)

Arizona is not dangerous! Expecialy not Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Maricopa and Good Year and stuff.

18 Alabama Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west.
19 New Jersey New Jersey is a state in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware.

This is one of the safest states but Newark and Trenton also Camden are bad, but the entire state besides those cities is okay.

Paterson and downtown Newark are the most dangerous. Lots of crime and drugs.

They will shoot you and leave you for dead on a graveyard

New Jersey folks are mean to you most of the time

20 Nevada Nevada is a state in the Western, Mountain West, and Southwestern regions of the United States of America.
21 North Carolina North Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state borders South Carolina and Georgia to the south, Tennessee to the west, Virginia to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

It's worse than what's globalized, I can assure you that.
