Top Ten Most Depressing Songs

The Contenders: Page 8

141 Street Spirit - Radiohead Street Spirit - Radiohead

I'm surprised this is so low on this list. This is honestly one of the most depressing songs I have ever heard.

There is just no hope in this song, but yet still perfect!

The dark tunnel without the light at the end

I heard this in Shrek The Third. Ah, well. I don't remember now. I was little back then.

Such a powerful song... Its lyrics make my heart cringe in sadness... at least deserves top 20...

143 Save Me from Myself - Brian "Head" Welch Save Me from Myself - Brian

This song is just about the most depressing song I have ever heard. It talks about how as long as there is something you believe in, you have a meaning to live. Truly beautiful and inspiring to those who believe in God AND to individuals who just want a meaning in their lives.

Such a sad song by one of the guitarists of Korn.

144 Locked Away - R. City Locked Away - R. City

Story of my life, pretty much:
"If I showed you my flaws
If I couldn't be strong
Tell me honestly
Would you still love me the same? "
"A gal I know that I can trust..."
"Cause I need a gal who's always by my side..."
And even though the music is upbeat and happy, the lyrics got me.

147 Dream On - Aerosmith Dream On - Aerosmith

I always tear up whe I listen to this. Steven Tylers voice sounds so sad and destroyed. One of the greats

148 Kettering - The Antlers Kettering - The Antlers

How is this not here? One of the most haunting and depressing songs to ever exist, the story of a ward nurse falling in love with a dying patient is absolutely gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking, should be top 10 at least.

The whole album is heart breaking I honestly cry through the whole album over and over on repeat. I love it so much but it kills me

152 Don't Laugh at Me - Peter Paul and Mary Don't Laugh at Me - Peter Paul and Mary
153 This Used to Be My Playground - Madonna This Used to Be My Playground - Madonna

It's not TOO sad and depressing to me.

154 Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins

You can literally feel Corgans pain and anger towards his father and the simple set up and slow addition of the strings section deepen the sound to a sonic nirvana. -

This is a sad and very meaningful song, the first verse diarm you with a smile suggests corgan's desire to take every thing against him, and deflect it with love instead of anger. It tells a story about how one hopes to deal with hard things in life.

Very depressing yet such a beautiful song at the same time. Definitely should be in the top 10.

155 Papillon - The Airborne Toxic Event Papillon - The Airborne Toxic Event
156 Danger - Keep Away - Slipknot Danger - Keep Away - Slipknot
157 Plastic Man - Seether Plastic Man - Seether

This song is just amazing, Shaun Morgan's vocals just add awesome addition to the song. A really meaningful song by Seether, this songs shows you should just be yourself and not some plastic guy who everyone likes, best to be yourself.
