The Contenders: Page 2
It's hard, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. This I love this song with a passion, and I don't want this list to discourage any starting guitar players. Keep on playing! Never Give UP - thatonemeatlfan667
Hard to believe it was played using a Distortion guitar. Not just hard to figure out but even more Difficult to play. Amazing Vocals from Godsend Dr. Serj makes this song beautiful.
Love this song. I guess I'm a pro, because at 12 years old I learned this whole song in ten minutes. Always have loved this song, probably always will. Love it!
This is really easy. It took me a day and a half to learn the whole thing.V 9 Comments
I've learned this song and afterlife (#5) and I can say that its just as hard. - Doffunel
I'm 13 and I have had no problem with the song
The beginning is the hardest riff and I've played half the songes on this list
The riffs were ok but man, the intro gets me
People saying this should be somewhere in the top 10 and above puppets... Nice meme. This is so much easier than puppets because you can just alternative pick the whole song and while all the solos sound really good they still are very simple. Also counting in the fact that I have played both songs live, try actually playing puppets properly (downpicking all the time) a hour into your set.
This song is pretty tough, and I can't pick all of the fast parts, even with down and up picking. You need to practice A LOT, because you need a lot of stamina for the full song
25? 25?! Is this a joke? This is an unbelievably hard guitar solo, not to mention 1000x harder than voodoo child or welcome to the jungle! I can see Eruption and Through the Fire and Flames being 1 and 2, but come on, one is easily as hard as the two, so it should at least be 5. AT LEAST.
Should be at least in the top ten, if not top five - KMalik993V 6 Comments
This song is easy to play sloppily but nearly impossible to nail. One of the greatest songs ever and possibly the best heavy metal song. If you listen to later metal like Iron Maiden and such you'll see this song influenced them a lot, E. G harmonized lead guitars, phasing effects, fast galloping riffs, sudden tempo changes... - EnglandSeller
This song is one of the best songs from Zeppelin. The guitar work in it is absolutely perfect. It blends in with the rest of the band perfectly and this is why it should be closer to the top!
One of the best Zeppelin songs ever made. Also very difficult song on the drums to master. There never will be another Jimmy Page or John Bonham.
Try playing 12 guitars at once. Case closedV 3 Comments
This song is much harder than welcome to the jungle. Listen to the guitar solo at the end!
THE ALL TIME GREATEST THRASH SONG, THIS SONG IS JUST INCREDIBLE AND WHO PUT JUSTIN BEIBER ON HERE, HIS SONGS HAVE NO GUITAR! FREDDIE LIVES ON!
my hands would fall of and start rolling around on the floor if I even attempted this how the hell did brian do it? - rockit(primejive)
who the **** put one time on this list... this song takes it all.. amazingly tough
Should be much higher on the list. The complexity of Queen, the shifts in tempo and key are astonishingV 1 Comment
Unless you have a kill switch you really can't play this song at all( or a least correctly) buckethead is a genius and doesn't get enough credit for how advanced he is when it comes to guitar playing (and he doesn't use computers) it's just him and his white les Paul with a volume nob and a killswitch and some pedals but nothing else! That's how much of a genius this guy is!
Easily one of the hardest songs to play on the guitar. Buckethead's a genius
I was literally gaping at my tab once it got past the tremolo picking bit.
Crossroads is by far the hardest song to play on this list. I seriously don't know why it's not number 1. Most of the songs in the top 20 just require you to play fast and have little to no skill at playing the guitar. This is one where no matter how fast and loud you are, you can never get it right. Eric Clapton's solo on Crossroads is simply impossible to perfect. Countless well established guitarists have marvelled at how he was able to keep time for the solo and we might never know. Try as you may but Crossroads, is one guitar song you simply cannot master. - guyritchi
Should be first
Who tf put Welcome to the Jungle at 10? easy - guyritchiV 16 Comments
I think this list is a joke. Most people here have no idea about guitar. There is absolutely no logical reason for putting songs from bands like system of a down and rhcpon this list. Songs of Metallica sound great but are really easy. Guns N' Roses are pretty easy too. And how come there's no Iron Maiden song on this list? Their solos are killers! And Guthrie Govan is beyond difficult, one of the best compositions I've heard! Waves should be at the top of this list!
Waves-- most of you won't know this song. I urge you to look it up on YouTube. Guthrie's skill will stun you, and the music will move you.
Everyone here is an idiot. A grade five guitar exam is harder than half of this. Guthrie's the only decent player here!
Guthrie us by far and away one of the best to ever play the instrument.
THIS track is a zillion times more difficult than most on the other 28 before it on the list
God. Who made this list! Far beyond the sun is the 49 hardest song! Haha. It's A crime.1 far beyond the sun 2 waves and 3 cliffs of dover. Well its all depending on the level of the guitarists hands and picking and understanding a real composed guitar lick
Too many Guitar Hero players voting in this lists. Everything coming from the hands of Yngwie Malmsteen (not to mention dozens of other shred masters like Jason Becker, Marty Friedman, Batio, Petrucci, Satriani, Vai, Vinnie Moore, etc.) can win to Van Halen in the blink of an eye (literally)
This should be on the 1st place because if you have memorized not only the solo but also the skills used in this solo, you can actually play other solos on the higher ranking of this poll.
This list was made by Guitar Hero players. I mean... Yngwie is way harder than many above this.V 6 Comments
Probably the most difficult classic ever made.
Definitely among top ten for sure! Yngwie deserves to be up there far beyond the sun and capric di diablo are way harder then dream theatre and definitely harder then master of puppets!
It many solo guitar
This is one of the hardest songs of all timeV 1 Comment
Insane intensity. Listen to the unplugged MTV version to a feel for it.
Too fast. Takes months to get it right
It has quite a fast solo full of confusing changes and two-step bends. It kinda hurts my left wrist, but the rest of the song isn't hard
The person who said this is the fastest riff ever has clearly never listened to fast paced metal
Thank you finally some people understand my pain
The last part of the solo is quite difficult - zxmV 3 Comments
The greatest rock band to ever exist!
Those who don't know Tochak really should see him play.
This song is extreme.
This song is pretty easy to play... I would not have this on my list
Why is this where it is a Justin Bieber song is higher up ffs steve vai is the most technically skilled guitarist ever to be born the only people who challenge him are satch and petrucci. He even finds some of his own songs too hard to play and hasn't played them since recording for crying out loud. I feel the only reason he still plays this one so much is due to the fact he spent ages practicing so that he could play it live
Just because a song is fast doesn't mean it's hard the likes of vai and Hendrix are unique as they use strange techniques resulting in an awesome sound personally out of the two I favour vai though
No song has as much pure emotion to back up the impossible licks as this song does.
If this list was real this would be at least number 10, it's about as hard as Cliffs of DoverV 6 Comments
Not all difficulty is about speed...
The main point playing this song is that the solo MUST be absolutely perfect. It hasn't hard technical issues but... perfection.
The solo is hard but it's not insane. Mr.Crowley is insane, I am 35 years old and have been playing guitar for 22 years, I still can't lay than main solo!
I learn to play it in the blink of an eye.
Yngwie Malmsteen? John Pretrucci? Steve Vai?
Now those are hard
The first 2 seconds of Tipton destroys all of almost any solo. It doesn't sound like anything a guitar could have the capacity to make. Proof there is a higher power, and its name is Glen.
Forget about playing entire solo first Sweep itself is tougher than many of the top 10 solos.
P.S. - I haven't seen anyone and I mean Anyone other than Mr. Tipton playing this solo perfectly. Enough said!
Its just damn amazing, listen to its melody and speed. It doesn't get much better than this when it comes to metal soli. Just awesome.
Masterpiece! So damn hard, but All Guns Blazing is the hardest song of Priest ever, and really deserves top 15 in this list along with Painkiller!V 2 Comments
