The Top Ten

1 Bowser (Mario Series) Bowser (Mario Series) Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first ...read more.

Bowser needs to be number one no other villain in gaming history has been more iconic everybody knows Bowser not everybody knows @$$face jr not much people know number one and number two compared to Bowser!

If you took mushroom kingdom without Bowser it just be a kingdom with a experiment gone totally wrong related to mushrooms

Bowser should be number 1. Without Bowser, Mario would just be a single 40 year old plumber.

Try to Escape Him.it's Impossible.Bowser is Everywhere, Until He is Etched into Your Mind.i Forget About Giygas a Lot,But Bowser is Stuck in My Head,Hence Being a Huge Nintendo Fan.

2 Pyrimaid Head (Silent Hill 2)

Known for the best soundtrack, the most shocking moment in Silent Hill, and a rather decent boss fight.

This guy can't even die... He just appears in your worst nightmares

I still have nightmares

Never heard of him

3 Giygas (Earthbound) Giygas (Earthbound) V 4 Comments
4 Jasper "Buttface" Jr (No More Heros 2: Desprette Struggle)

I know what you're thinking "How is this little scumbag iconic?!? " Well, read this sentance and think about it. Jasper Batt Jr. Is the perfect example of how hateful a character can go! He's lately on everyone's most hated characters list! Think about those sentances and you'll understand. - Videogamer2000

5 The Great Mighty Poo (Conker's Bad Fur Day and Live and Reloaded) The Great Mighty Poo (Conker's Bad Fur Day and Live and Reloaded)

Ganon should be number 1, but anyway this is the boss battle (along with the end from mgs3) that I will always remember, and if you don't know the lyrics of the song, then you have no idea what an iconic boss is

6 Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid 1) Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid 1)

I'm not a big Metal Gear fan, but this guy is pretty much an example of what I strive to create, on the occasion that I program a game using Scratch or Python. The fourth-wall breaking here is absolutely amazing.

7 Blinky, Clyde, Inky, and Pinky: The Pac-Man Ghosts
8 GlaDOS (Portal Series) GlaDOS (Portal Series) GLaDOS is a fictional artificially intelligent computer system appearing in the video games Portal and Portal 2. The character was created by Erik Wolpaw and Kim Swift and voiced by Ellen McLain.

GLaDOS is pretty much my favorite out of all of these. She's always coming up with sarcastic remarks, in a tone of voice that says "oh, wow, just look how much I care." She's got an interesting design in terms of appearance, a combination of bulky and sleek forms that you really just want to draw, figure it all out. And finally, neurotoxin. Enough said.

9 Ganon (Zelda Series)

Ganon needs to be at least in the Top 5, along with Kefka - Nintendonix

I'm going with Petey, but as a boss, Ganon might even be more iconic than Bowser

Ok you are killing me. I think Ganon should. Be at least in the top 3. He is in one of the most popular video games of all time. - Umara0068

10 Nemisis (Resident Evil 3: Nemisis)

Nemesis is insanely difficult to kill especially you use a PS1 emulator and fight him in every when Jake the S.T.A.R.S. Officer get killed in the fight that the character you control (Don't wanna tell the spoliers especially the non-Resident Evil fans) scene and especially at Hard Mode! Very iconic, memorable and epic! Should be at Top 5! - JomartheGreat

The Contenders

11 Vladimir Makarov (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 & 3) Vladimir Makarov (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 & 3)

All warefare is based on deception. All it needs to change the course of history is the will of a single man. Makarov believed that and started his reign of Terror by nuking the Middle East and and massacring civilians in a busy airport.

12 Mettaton (Undertale) Mettaton (Undertale) Mettaton is a character in the popular 2015 RPG game, Undertale. He is a robot with a soul built by Dr. Alphys, and is the sole television star of the underground. Mettaton is a popular character in the fanbase. His notable features include his legs, and his catchphrase "OH YESSSS!"

Mettaton is the most memorable to me. I only cried on his death. So moving... RIP MY BAE - Page_394

He is known from his legs

13 Cronos (God Of War)
14 Dr Robotnick/Eggman (Sonic Series)

Fat man, has funny nickname. enough said

WHY IS HE SO LOW ON THE LIST?

THIS SHOULD BE HIGHER UP THE LIST! - CN121

15 Ballos (Cave Story) Ballos (Cave Story)
16 Sans (Undertale) Sans (Undertale) Sans or Sans the Skeleton is a character in the 2015 RPG Undertale created by Toby Fox. He is a lazy, pun-loving skeleton who is a supporting protagonist in the "pacifist" and "neutral" routes of Undertale, and a heroic antagonist/final boss of the "genocide" route. He is known for his incredibly difficult ...read more.

Iconic for being one of the hardest if not THE hardest boss in the game.

Alphys NEO is still harder and has way better music to be honest (no offense to this fight) - xandermartin98

Geeett dunked on!

Donuts! Cake! Cupcakes! Chocolate!
Now that I have your attention, (don't skip this comment just yet...)
Sans is an iconic character.
Not only is he bad to the bone in a Genocide run, but also in a Pacifist run. (Excluding Neutral, because I don't know all of those endings yet, and you might tick Sans off)
As hilarious as he can be, he is pretty complicated on the inside. His lab (possibly passed down from W.D. Gaster) (might be Paps, but assuming Sans owns it) and bedroom (get the key from Sans first), you can see he is a bit of a mess. Sans is humerus (;)), probably works at MTT halftime (for the comedy purposes), has a scientific background, etc., but the thing is, Sans is probably (i'm a 200 million% Sans fan ((don't judge me))) the MOST iconic character, for these specific purposes.
can't we all relate to laziness?
And trying hard to be funny?
And hiding things (not so much)...
But to be brief, Sans is probably #1 for me, #2 being Eggman (Sonic) and #3 ...more

17 Dr. Andonuts (Earthbound: Radiation's Halloween Hack)
18 Mike Tyson (Punch-Out!)
19 King Dedede (Kirby) King Dedede (Kirby) King Dedede is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory.

The final boss of the first Kirby game ever made. Of course this is the best of the iconic video game bosses.
