The Top Ten
1 Bowser (Mario Series) Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first ...read more.

Bowser needs to be number one no other villain in gaming history has been more iconic everybody knows Bowser not everybody knows @$$face jr not much people know number one and number two compared to Bowser!

If you took mushroom kingdom without Bowser it just be a kingdom with a experiment gone totally wrong related to mushrooms

Bowser is strong but Dream Team Bowser.Jr is harder without him Mario would be a 21 year old carpenter who fights DK and Peach would not exist Bowser is the best boss ever I beat him 123 times

This should be number 1, I've never seen too much people talking about Pyramid Head all the time.

2 Pyrimaid Head (Silent Hill 2)

Known for the best soundtrack, the most shocking moment in Silent Hill, and a rather decent boss fight.

This guy can't even die... He just appears in your worst nightmares

I still have nightmares

Never heard of him

3 Giygas (Earthbound)

Really epic boss fight.

Remind me of the dueeeaugh fish from SpongeBob.

it's earthbound.

He's a living fetus for crying out loud!
gross!

4 Jasper "Buttface" Jr (No More Heros 2: Desprette Struggle)

I know what you're thinking "How is this little scumbag iconic?!? " Well, read this sentance and think about it. Jasper Batt Jr. Is the perfect example of how hateful a character can go! He's lately on everyone's most hated characters list! Think about those sentances and you'll understand.

5 The Great Mighty Poo (Conker's Bad Fur Day and Live and Reloaded) The Great Mighty Poo is a fictional character appearing in the 2001 video game Conker's Bad Fur Day. He is a giant, opera-singing pile of feces that appears as a boss in the sloprano chapter.

Ganon should be number 1, but anyway this is the boss battle (along with the end from mgs3) that I will always remember, and if you don't know the lyrics of the song, then you have no idea what an iconic boss is

It is basically an opera. Ii aamm the great mighty poo and I'm gonna throw my s*** at you. A huge supply of tosh comes drom my chocolate starfish. How about some scat you little t***. Do you really think you'll survive in here. You don't seem to know which creek you're iinn. Sweet corn is the only thing that makes it through my rear. How do you think I keep this lovely grin? Have some more caviar

Probably the funniest boss in video game history

6 Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid 1)

I'm not a big Metal Gear fan, but this guy is pretty much an example of what I strive to create, on the occasion that I program a game using Scratch or Python. The fourth-wall breaking here is absolutely amazing.

7 GlaDOS (Portal Series) GLaDOS is a fictional artificially intelligent computer system appearing in the video games Portal and Portal 2. The character was created by Erik Wolpaw and Kim Swift and voiced by Ellen McLain.

GLaDOS is pretty much my favorite out of all of these. She's always coming up with sarcastic remarks, in a tone of voice that says "oh, wow, just look how much I care." She's got an interesting design in terms of appearance, a combination of bulky and sleek forms that you really just want to draw, figure it all out. And finally, neurotoxin. Enough said.

Such a lovable/hateable character in an amazing game, my favorite boss.

8 Blinky, Clyde, Inky, and Pinky: The Pac-Man Ghosts
9 Ganon (Zelda Series)

Ok you are killing me. I think Ganon should. Be at least in the top 3. He is in one of the most popular video games of all time.

I'm going with Petey, but as a boss, Ganon might even be more iconic than Bowser

Gannon took over hyrule several times bowser only kidnapped a princess so yeah...

Ganon needs to be at least in the Top 5, along with Kefka

10 Nemisis (Resident Evil 3: Nemisis)

Nemesis is insanely difficult to kill especially you use a PS1 emulator and fight him in every when Jake the S.T.A.R.S. Officer get killed in the fight that the character you control (Don't wanna tell the spoliers especially the non-Resident Evil fans) scene and especially at Hard Mode! Very iconic, memorable and epic! Should be at Top 5!

The Contenders
11 Vladimir Makarov (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 & 3)

All warefare is based on deception. All it needs to change the course of history is the will of a single man. Makarov believed that and started his reign of Terror by nuking the Middle East and and massacring civilians in a busy airport.

12 Sans (Undertale) Sans or Sans the Skeleton is a character in the 2015 RPG Undertale created by Toby Fox. He is a lazy, pun-loving skeleton who is a supporting protagonist in the "pacifist" and "neutral" routes of Undertale, and a heroic antagonist/final boss of the "genocide" route. He is known for his incredibly difficult ...read more.

Alphys NEO is still harder and has way better music to be honest (no offense to this fight)

Iconic for being one of the hardest if not THE hardest boss in the game.

He is a mascot and the boss of the Undertale series.

Why is Mettaton higher than sans?

13 Mettaton (Undertale) Mettaton is a character in the popular 2015 RPG game, Undertale. He is a robot with a soul built by Dr. Alphys, and is the sole television star of the underground. Mettaton is a popular character in the fanbase. His notable features include his legs, and his catchphrase "OH YESSSS!"

Mettaton is the most memorable to me. I only cried on his death. So moving... RIP MY BAE

He is known from his legs

14 Cronos (God Of War)
15 Ballos (Cave Story) Ballos is a character in the video game "Cave Story." He is a powerful magician who was sealed away due to his misuse of dark magic. Ballos is both tragic and menacing, serving as a formidable final boss in the game. He embodies themes of power, corruption, and the consequences of unchecked ambition, contributing to the game's intricate narrative.
16 Mother Brain (Metroid Series)
17 Dr Robotnick/Eggman (Sonic Series)
18 King Dedede (Kirby) King Dedede is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory.

The final boss of the first Kirby game ever made. Of course this is the best of the iconic video game bosses.

19 Dracula (Castlevania Series)
20 Ornstein and Smough (Dark Souls)

Why is he so low?

21 Master Hand and Crazy Hand (Super Smash Bros.)

The face of smash bros...or should I say hands of smash bros
