Top Ten Most Inspiring Fictional Characters

The Top Ten Most Inspiring Fictional Characters

1 Forrest Gump Forrest Gump is a fictional character who first appears in the 1986 novel by Winston Groom. Forrest Gump also appeared on screen in the 1994 film of the same name directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Forrest may be dim as a light-bulb but he sure is able to succeed to play ping-pong, saving an army buddy's life and running a business company that sells a pile load of shrimp. Possibly, he could be just an inspiration to these average people.

Yes. He is very inspiring. In the movie, it shows that it isn't all about the brains.

Inspires lots of people - PeeledBanana

Forrest Gump is one of the best or the best movie of all time

2 Hermione Granger

She shows girls that is not all about being "pretty"
She is smart, brave and strong
She punched an idiot right in the face (sorry Draco's fans)
She found the answer to almost all questions in the books
She's the kind of girl that seems only a useless bookworm, but is in fact an awesome and useful bookworm
Gotta love her, my favourite character... maybe ever

(Sorry if some of my grammar is wrong, but English isn't my first language... at all+ I'm 12)

Most Intelligent Witch of her age, probably will invent spells out of this world, and saved Harry Potter and the gang with her intelligence so many times. She inspired me to become great at what you do and love and help others because of it. She is also very brave and kind. Katniss could never have helped so many people nor have been more intelligent. Should be at the top of this list.

Hermione is really the brains in the entire series. I mean, how many times would Ron and Harry get expelled or killed without her? Hermione helped me feel OK to be smart and don't worry what people say.

She should be number 1! Hermione is vital in the Harry Potter series. Harry and Ron would just stumble around school achieving nothing at all if it were not for her!

3 Katniss Everdeen Katniss Everdeen is a fictional character and the protagonist of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. She is portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence in the film adaptation franchise.

She found her fire and is helping me find mine she never gave until the very end and at least tried to keep strong

Katniss got beat by an ex-outlaw, a made man and an Irish anti-hero? Uh no way are Sean Devlin, Vito Scaletta and John Marston more inspiring than The Girl on Fire!. - Catnip

How is Katniss Everdeen not number 1 she fought her whole life and nothing came easy she risked her life to save her sister how is that less inspiring than forest gump.

The Girl on Fire is inspiring and she should be number 1. How could Forest Gump get number 1 when katniss saved millions of lives? She deserves to be number 1

4 Vito Scaletta

Vito just wants to make enough cash to help out his family. In the process he finds out who killed his dad and made friends in the Falcone crime family.

Vito Scaletta is one gangster you wouldn't want to mess with. Katniss and Hermione would be foolish to cross paths with Vito.

Vito got out of jail by beating the crud out of other prisoners.

He just wants to make a lot of cash but also has principles.

5 John Marston John Marston is a central character and the main protagonist of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare.

He has taken on numerous predators and outlaws. He was more of a hunter than Katniss ever will be. Katniss wished she could hunt grizzly bears.

One of Rockstar Game's finest creations, John Marston was pretty much the old school redneck cowboy who stuck to the old ways despite jumps in technology. He'd choose a horse over a motorcar any day of the week.

Outlaw turned vigilante who helps the uber cool Marshall Leigh Johnson and his funny deputies clamp down on outlaws like Walton's gang and the Bollard Twins' gang.

In what way is some geek like Hermione more inspiring than John Marston an old school redneck cowboy who don't take crap from grave robbers, charlatans and tyrants.

6 Homer Simpson Homer Jay Simpson is the protagonist of the American animated television series The Simpsons as the patriarch of the eponymous family.

To alcohol; the cause and solution to all problems.

He was a World War II veteran and is known as the world's first superhero. The character was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon and more.

So inspirational that all it takes to become a true hero is not about being big, or strong, or fast, because those things are just for support, but being a good, smart, brave, and heroic man no matter the size, is what it truly takes.

He has many abilities like, super strength, utilization of ki, flight, teleportation, super speed, enhanced reflexes, and Super Saiyan transformation that increase strength, speed, and durability. more.

He, though being the strongest on Earth, had the courage to die for even the weakest on the Earth. He had no fault in him but his own stupidity, but that's his simplicity.

According to me he is the most inspirational character. he should at least be in the top ten

He's got a cool name

18 Peeta Mellark

That very first comment is rude Peeta Mellark is a sweet guy and always puts katniss first and is always thinking of others.

Why peeta he sucks fatness is the obvious one she is way better she is so inspirational the only reason peeta is on here is because he is a dude but if U watch the hunger games or read it it has an extremely strong background message about the empowerment of women

Grand Theft Auto 5's Trevor Phillips don't take crap from anyone.

21 Molly Weasley

A very devoted housewife and mother. Because of the abuse Harry Potter received in his own home, she became a mother figure to him, in place of his own mother, who was killed while he was still an infant. Later, when Bellatrix Lestrange attempts to kill Molly's daughter, Molly kills her in a fit of zealous rage.

22 Link Link refers to several different incarnations of the same protagonist of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series.

He is the boy with the triforce of courage who must save the world from thousands of years of darkness. He is only a small child but travels through time where he is older and defeats the biggest, mightiest and most evil enemies with his wits and strategy. I don't think anyone can top what link was burdened with.

He proves that age doesn't matter, character does. He is a 9/10 year old boy who is tasked with saving the world. He is looked down upon for his age, but in the end he succeeded. Just because you are younger doesn't mean you are worse.

Link had no "powers" like almost all of these people. He all he had was his courage which barely got him by, step by step, each enemy more frightening than the last, but his determination was unmatched and unfacable.

23 Sherlock Holmes Sherlock Holmes is a fictional private detective created by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He's loyal and honest and persevering and really good friend! Plus he's a good cook and a good gardener. And he got a sweet wife and had a ton of kids and lived happily ever after (not to mention that he eventually got to go to the Undying Lands because he was a Ringbearer). Oh yeah, and he was also elected as the mayor a gazillion times, so he was popular too!
Thank you, I know I'm awesome.

He never gave up, never gave in to fear, rose to every challenge and grew enormously and got Frodo over the line and still remained humble and good hearted.

I love Sam, he's loyal and humble. He never left Frodo's side even when Frodo was acting out and Sam married Rosie and got his happy ending - brookeloveslotr

Atticus is one of the best characters. He is such a calm and collected person, and has a clear sense of justice. I think Scout looks up at him, admires him. He is a good father as well.

He is one of the leading protagonists in the book and movie "To Kill a Mockingbird. " He inspires others to stand up against inequality, injustice and stand up for others even if they will not succeed or suffer the consequences of their actions.

Stands resolute for justice and stands alone if necessary. A great inspiration.

I'm honestly extremely thankful for this show. Naruto is the most inspirational character that I've had the liberty of learning from. His story is life changing, cunning and brilliant.

There are many fictional and non-fictional characters who may inspire you, but when it comes to life lessons, Uzumaki Naruto is the one for me...

This guy inspires me to try my hardest at everything, and to always have a good attitude.

He inspires me to try to do my best till my last breath

Tony S should be 3

32 Maximum Ride

She was incredible. She was created in a lab and raised in a dog crate for the first 10 year of her life, helping 5 other kids to get through the torture they were put through. She raised those kids for years after they escaped, from the age of 15. She was hunted down by artificial werewolves (heavily armed werewolves, actually), various robotic/cyborg creatures, mad scientists, and more. She survived the apocalypse! Everyone she met seemed to want her dead. And yet? She still wanted to save the world. She held on, and came back for more. Who could be more inspiring?

37 Nathan Drake

38 Rocko (Rocko's Modern Life) Rocko is the eponymous fictional character of the cartoon Rocko's Modern Life and the comic book series of the same name.

Despite a horrible upbringing and many bad things happening to him he never embraced evil or lost his capacity to love and care about people.

41 Percy Jackson Perseus "Percy" Jackson is a fictional character, the title character and narrator of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson & the Olympians series.

He's the most loyal person I've ever seen, he's willing to sacrifice himself to save people he's never even met and has courage that no other person can meet. He's a real role model and never fails to save the day no matter how many evils and hardships are thrown his way, and no matter how tired and exhausted and heart broken he's feeling. He (in my opinion, you don't need to agree) surpasses Katniss Everdeen, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Beatrice Prior (sorry guys I love you but Percy is just) in everything and anything.
