I believe they should be number one, they were ahead of their time and changed the music in just ten years. They were famous all around the world. We still listen to them even after 50 years. They sell the most albums still and they began the British invasion of the 60's. Had their own company. Influence almost every bands in the world. Every famous artist does a cover of them especially MJ. They've made the best album covers of all time (Abbey road which is copied everywhere. ) All songs are a ten out of ten not one is terrible. Beatlemania man. They had to stop world touring cause they couldn't hear the music because of all the screaming fans. The Beatles did especially excellent even with old technology of the 60's. Even after they broke up, by themselves they were good. They made movies. Movies were made about them or about their music. The Beatles are THE legendary band. They couldn't go out of their hotels because of the crowds waiting for them at the bottom. They began mop top ...more

Queen... Unbelievable. Abba... Phenomenal.
Beatles... Incomparable.
They are the best simply because without them, Queen, Abba etc. Wouldn't exist.
They were Queen's inspiration.
They were pioneers... In flight, are the inventers of the Boeing legends or the Wright Brothers? The Wright Brothers... Because they were the pioneers.
Beatles forever.

The Beatles don't belong on the 7th place they always belong on the first place when it comes to music #period the other music artists can battle for the second place like led zeppelin, the rolling stones, queen etc. But the 1st absolutely belong to the Beatles only

The Beatles should be the no. 1 band because they were the only band who reversed the songs resulting meaningful words
And they could make people go crazy for loving them as they were very thoughtful

2 Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in London in 1970. The original lineup was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar, vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band ...read more.

From the first time I heard Queen back in 1975 the Queen II album I fell in love with them. Their is no singer that had the range of Freddie Mercury. Very few lead guitar players can play with the versatility of Brian May. Rodger Taylor's unique high voice along with John Deacon's great bass playing are the icing on the cake. As a hard core Queen fan Queen II is the epitome of quality vocals and instrumental genius. However in my opinion some of their most beautiful songs came on their last albums Innuendo and Made in Heaven ( These are the days of our lives and Mother Love). I grew up with the Beatles in the 60's but matured with Queen in the 70's 80's and early 90's. Close call between the two but I give the edge to Queen based on raw talent alone. God only knows what could have been had not been for the death of Freddie Mercury.

ABBA above Queen? I have to disagree. Did ABBA write a song even close to the popularity of Bohemian Rhapsody? I don't think so. Queen is the greatest to me and always will be. Together by fate and they are immortal. They are Queen.

Queen is the best band that ever was or will be on our planet, and Freddie Mercury is the best vocalist who ever was or will be on the planet! This is the best of all rock'n'roll legends!

Greatest singer of all time, Freddie Mercury. Many of the greatest songs of all time. Greatest basslines of all time. Hands down the greatest rock band of all time.

3 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock. Page states it was Keith Moon of The Who that claimed the band could only go down, like a lead balloon -- thus prompting the iconic name of Led Zeppelin. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors ...read more.

If you ask the "younger" generation who ABBA is, they wouldn't know what the hell you were talking about! If you ask them who Led Zeppelin is, they would know.

R you kidding me? Led Zeppelin only at number 11?

Queen has been embellished with time, and whilst I love the Beatles and Zeppelin, there's nothing quite like listening to there 4 best albums, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here (My favorite), Animals, and the Wall. Their early work is great to listen to one off, though the difference in listening to an album vs a song is huge, each side of Dark Side plays like a single song, and Wish You Were Here has some of the best songs of their's, including Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, and Welcome to the Machine. I didn't think I was going to list nearly the entire album, but I did (Have A Cigar is a good random listen too). I'll admit animals felt long though once you hear it a few times it grows on you, especially Dogs and Pigs (The Three different ones). The wall tells a great story, and much like Dark Side, each side can feel like a single song, particularly on the first disc/record. Back to Dark Side and it's allegory for life on the A Side, and problems in life on ...more

We don't need a reason to have Floyd at the top of the list. (the only psychedelic-rock band in the list, would have loved to see porcupine tree here though.. )

Definitely should be number 1 It doesn't need a reason it just speaks for itself

Yeah I've heard of Metallica. They are legendary for doing covers.

5 The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). Their best works include songs like Paint it Black, Sympathy for the Devil, Satisfication (Which ranked no. 2 in The Rolling Stones Magazine’s best songs of all time list). The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2012, the band celebrated its 50th anniversary.

No one has the song resume like the Stones. Easily the best band of all time.

8 ABBA ABBA are a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

An incredibly underrated band in my opinion. Some people dismiss them because of their Scandinavian origin, weird clothes and cheesy lyrics. But aside from that, ABBA is pure perfection! They've got two of the best voices I've ever heard in music, some incredible and complex harmonies and very relatable lyrics! They are not even a disco band, most of their songs are unique in style. Dancing queen, fernando, knowing me knowing you, take a chance on me, sos, eagle, the day before you came are some of the best songs I've ever heard from any band! And these are just my favourites, there are tens of others just as nice

There music is timeless! It will never die! They have a clean cut image with the greatest songs never! Number 1!

Talk about four Swedish Vikings who invaded the Anglo-Saxon and American Pop charts.
