Most Lyrical Rappers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 3

41 KRS-One

Even his name is more clever than most new lyrics. He is one of the best not only because of how good he sounds but because of what he says and teaches from the messages in his songs. Even his interviews are good to listen too. He should definitely be higher up.

He just about invented the art of lyricism. Dropping knowledge and truth since '88. His lyrics are like getting slapped in the face with an encyclopedia, hard hitting and damn son, you learning while enjoying this dope album.

42 Aesop Rock

Aesop's metaphors are untouchable. His work is definitely NOT as some people say, nonsense. He Requires some patience to understand his storytelling but ultimately it is very fulfilling.

I've never heard an emcee use such complex rhyme schemes and a wide vocabulary. I wanna die a little simply cause Lil Wayne is higher on this list. Aesop Rock was part of a study to find the most lyrically intricate rappers, and he topped the entire list. He used a wider vocabulary than SHAKESPEARE used in his own works. He was leagues ahead of Herman Melville (the writer of moby dick) and all of wu tang, Eminem, kendrick, etc. Keep in mind, Aesop Rock is FAR from my favourite rapper, I have fallen victim to the Top Dawg Ent. bandwagon as of late. But I cannot deny that Aesop Rock is the most lyrically intricate emcee ever heard.

The way he spits a verse is untouchable there are no contenders to how great his lyrics and flow is and has a huge vocabulary if you needed a teacher on rapping this is the guy no doubt flawless technique

I can't believe he's so far back in this list. He's not my favorite rapper, but the lyrics he has are super complex and he uses vocabulary that isn't common. It's definitely a treat just to listen to his lyrics.

46 Willie D

Willie D may not have the best delivery or be that great of a lyracist, his way of telling it like it is and his witty rhymes keeps him one of my all time favorite rappers.

49 R.A. the Rugged Man

Crazy lyricist. Deserves to be in the top 10. Just listen to "Uncommon Valor"

Intelligent lyrics, sick flow, best in the game! No Mainstream stuff

R.A. lyrically speaking is intelligent - just look at who he resides around. Both AOTF and JMT.

50 Lecrae Lecrae Lecrae Devaughn Moore, mononymously known as Lecrae, is an American Christian hip hop artist, songwriter, record producer and actor.

Lecrae is the most lyrical rapper I've ever heard. He has some of the beat songs ever.

Lecrae deserves props for each of the messages he carries in each of his songs. I definitely respect him for that.

He more put together complete no cheat curse words to run to

His Lyrics are about real things

51 Alireza JJ Alireza JJ Alireza Jazayeri, better known by his stage name Alireza JJ, is an Iranian rapper, producer, and film director. V 2 Comments

55 Busta Rhymes Busta Rhymes Trevor George Smith, Jr., better known by his stage name Busta Rhymes, is an American hip hop recording artist, actor, record producer and record executive.

How is freak Lil Wayne above busta rhymes? Busta rhymes rapped faster than Eminem in "speed of sound"

58 Royce da 5'9" Royce da 5'9 Ryan Daniel Montgomery, better known by his stage name Royce da 5'9", is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan.

Royce is probably the best artist on Shady Records right now (Eminem not counted). He has a sick flow. He puts some great imagery in his raps.. He can beat any one from Young Money and is better than all of those "Mainstream Rappers". He deserves more recognition.

Have you ever heard the song "bad meets evil"? Eminem still @ number 1 but the lyricism in bad meets evil is simply incredible. - Rydershady2001

Why is Royce this low? Lyrically he can keep up with em. Delivery also but that's not the point. Royce shreds doe... End of story

All of slaughter house! Shady records all the way to the top!

60 Macklemore Macklemore Ben Haggerty, known by his stage name Macklemore and formerly Professor Macklemore, is an American singer and songwriter from Seattle, Washington.

Macklemore uses an impressive repertoire of lyrics about real issues as well as growing up and other connectable topics. A lot of rappers today use their voice to convey a stupid dehumanisation of the female sex rapping about bodies as if they were objects, however Macklemore does not stoop to this level and relays actual content to his listeners. A very talented artist.

Macklemore is more of a story teller than a rapper, his raps speak of something thoughtful, songs such as "Jimmy Iovine", "Other Side" and "Wings" describe his entire life alone. He is so inspiring he deserves to be classified one of the best rappers ever.
