43 The Smashing Pumpkins The Smashing Pumpkins The Smashing Pumpkins is an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1988. They are very unique, and I love the fact that there is a girl in the band who is treated as an equal. As an aspiring female guitarist, the music industry doesn't have many bands with girls in them, that are still taken seriously. This band reminds me that yes, I can do this. Also, I loved the uniqueness of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. It was nothing I had ever seen or heard before. They changed lives, and they influenced other bands to be unique and have unique themes. Panic! At the Disco for example were highly influenced by the theme of Tonight, Tonight from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Their whole album theme was influenced by the one video. The Smashing Pumpkins be whoever they want to be, and are accepted for it, and not judged. I just love them, and I will live and die as a fan.

44 David Bowie David Bowie David Robert Jones was born in London on January 8, 1947, the son of a fundraiser and a waitress. He died in New York on January 10, 2016 at the age of 69, a hero to millions. more.

Definitely original. I don't know why he's so far down the list.

THE New Wave band. Unlike any other band and they actually sound like themselves playing live. Please take a listen if you haven't yet.

48 Paramore Paramore Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, formed in 2004. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York.

I wouldn't say most original because I consider most original to be bands that pioneered and influenced the rock genre early on but this is definitely a unique band! They're different but not too odd, their lyrics are brilliant and their sound never stays the same but instead changes each album. Every Paramore song is very different from the other and they definitely stand out in the pop punk genre.

The most original band I've ever seen.

They are about as punk as Charlotte Church is death metal

51 Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine is a Nu-Metal band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and drummer Brad Wilk.

If you want to stump somebody, just ask them to name any band, past or present, that is even remotely the same as RATM. Those funky bass lines combined with Tom Morello's legendary and incomparable guitar riffs, plus Zack de la Rocha's intriguing pitch, flow, and temperament make RATM the most out there and musically unmatched band ever! I don't know how it could possibly be so far down on the list! Maybe the most unique band on the planet!

52 Ween Ween

Everyone of their songs sounds like a different band

Original doesn't mean good, but they still are original

53 ABBA ABBA ABBA were a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

While not strictly "rock" music, abba's style was very unique. Their Swedish voices make it almost impossible to compare them to popular groups. The only music even similar to theirs, I think, would have to be the Hep Stars while Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus were writing the music together. ABBA's harmonies, with three singers taking turns as the lead, were always outstanding. They aren't one of those groups, like Boston, AC/DC etc. (no offense) whose songs tend to all sound the same after a while. No, each and every song told some sort of story or had some different twist that made it interesting to listen to. ABBA was one of the first bands, from a country other than England or America, to make it big worldwide. That's pretty unique.

All of ABBA's songs are very distinct, always quickly recognizable. Their sound unlike anything that came before or after.

56 Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band

Unlike most of the bands on this list Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band actually made a lot of music that broke musical rules in very radical ways. Have a listen to Trout Mask Replica - Lick My Decals Off, Baby - Doc At The Radar Station - Ice Cream For Crow -... And
The last two songs on Clear Spot

57 The Doors The Doors The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore.

Jim Morrison is the prototype of ALL "frontmen" for rock bands, and every one of them since then owes him a debt of gratitude. Before him, all such singers were solo acts. He defined the role then, and still defines it today as the GOAT; Greatest Of All Time.

58 The Moody Blues The Moody Blues The Moody Blues are an English rock band. They first came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music, but their second album, Days of Future Passed, which was released in 1967, was a fusion of rock with classical music and established them as pioneers in the development of art rock and progressive more.

One of the best bands of all time when it comes to integrating different kinds of music. Rap, edm, hip hop, classical. Lead singer Tyler Joseph can really put on a show as well. Their music is most unique for its message.
