Ariana is so overrated it hurts. She's so bad at singing! She sounds like a dying cat and a dog whistle remixed into a voice. And poor Ariana was "blessed" with such a high and screechy voice. Everyone loves her for no reason I can identify. She only had a temporary acting gig and became slightly inappropriate and "attractive". I say she is way too loved for no reason.

Has SUCH a whiny voice

I just want to shove her down a garbage truck. Her stupid voice is so annoying and whiny. She sings like she sucked the entire air out of a balloon. I hate her. Yea Arianators, come at me

The queen of auto-tune.

25 Kendrick Lamar Kendrick Lamar

Most overrated rapper of all time. No debating. Nas is not really overrated. 2Pac is a legend and is not overrated. Biggie is a little overrated. Jay-Z is overrated now but he used to be a good rapper. Eminem is extremely overrated but he's done his work to be talked about as one of the best, even if I don't enjoy his music. But this guy, Mr. Kendrick Lamar, is about as overrated as it gets. It's one thing to have talent, and lyrics, but if you can't put together a good song with all of that, then I just don't know what is wrong with you. TPAB sounded like a bunch of noises, not music. It had three or so good songs. If he could put those lyrics over better production, maybe he wouldn't be as bad, but his voice is still a problem. His voice sounds like a 12 year old who just got kicked in the vag. He needs to stop that cartoonish crap, especially if he's trying to be lyrical and he wants us to take him seriously. - NicoleJohnnyLutherBrianFan

26 Mariah Carey Mariah Carey Mariah Carey is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She won 5 Grammys, got her documentary movie "Glitter" and also one of the biggest best-selling women in the music industry. ...read more.

The one thing that bugs me about Mariah is her inability to make a consistent album. Somebody needs to watch over her while she's making these albums, because you don't put a super upbeat song, then a sad emotional ballad, then another upbeat dance jam, and then a mid tempo just at the start of the album! Her songs are great as stand-alone songs, but trying to listen through her albums is very hard. I also think she lacks emotion in her ballads, a lot of the time I find her ballads very boring and unfinished, and I actually love good ballads. Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Nicole Scherzinger, James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, Whitney Houston, all of these artists have made some great ballads. They have the right amount of emotion where they can make you just feel it in your soul, and even get emotional. Mariah does not have that. She's much better at making upbeat songs, or sexy songs. Ballads are not for her. Sometimes her voice even cracks in her more recent ballads, no thanks! - NicoleJohnnyLutherBrianFan

He's good but not the best!

Thinks he is all that

Ridiculous lyrics, What about the elephants? The horrible singing, endless choreographed dancing, grabbing his crotch, trying to look tough, constatly going on about a better world and spending all his vast fortune on pleasuring himself. The list goes on, for the song and video for Thriller alone should make him number one. I don't need dance moves to go with my music, that's just showbizz, I want rock n roll.

Who ever wrote that is a bitch

Screw whoever put this here, this band is amazing.
And whoever said that most of Coldplay's songs sound similar has no clue what they're talking about. Each album has it's own unique sound.

Chris Martin wants desperately to be Thom Yorke. This is true.

WRONG! Coldplay deserve all the fame. Their songs are all different and have great lyrics. - astroshark

Most of the songs sound VERY similar! Not much variance and lyrics are a bit sappy. I figure most all fans are women and the men who like them may bat for the other team.

39 X Japan X Japan X Japan is a Japanese heavy metal band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi.

As X (82-93) they were an epic bunch of rockstars and way under-rated - their style and sound was unique, something that is hard to find in Japan where everything is so uniform and garbage pop music rules. As soon as they became X Japan, they changed their style and sound and became nothing more than an over-rated mediocre Japanese pop rock band. I think they received way too much attention then and get way too much credit now for all basically. Also HIDE is probably one of the most over-rated guitarists ever.

Of course they are not the best, they're good but not the best in Japan and in the world, very overrated because of their Art Of Life - ronluna

It's like no. 1 on almost every single list, come on they can't be that good! - HenP

In my opinon X Japan should be under the top 5, because they were just "new and hip" so everybody loved them. If Hide hadn't killed himself, this band would be a lot less popular now

Katy Perry can't sing and her songs are boring and generic. At least Rihanna makes some catchy songs that get stuck in your head in a good way. Katy's songs just annoy the heck out of you or just leave you with no impression at all because of how boring they are. If it weren't for her enormous breasts, nobody would care about her. Don't no straight guy like katy perry for her voice/music! Right from the start with that piece of crap I Kissed a Skank, I knew this girl was a joke and a waste of space. She even sold out for her fame. - NicoleJohnnyLutherBrianFan
