People act like they know dragon force but can only name through the fire and the flames - imabigpotato

62 Korn Korn Korn is an American Nu-Metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band's current lineup includes founding members Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch, and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, with the addition of Ray Luzier, who replaced the band's original member, David more.

Honestly, I'm a fan of KoRn, but I can understand why they're considered overrated. They make good music, sure, really good music, but people who label KoRn as "the godfathers of nu-metal" and claim that their one of the best 90s metal bands really bug me. Lead singer Jonathan Davis even claimed in an interview that he hates the nu-metal genre, and never considered KoRn to be metal to begin with, and that his band was labelled as "nu-metal" simply because people didn't know what genre they fit into.

Ah, yes. The quintessential band from the late years of the 20th century and early years of 21st century for those posers (mainly teenagers) who felt they were so cool for listening to that music. What?! They're still active? Guess nobody cared anymore.

Why do people like this band so much? All they did was make Nu Metal which isn't even that good of music.

63 Sex Pistols Sex Pistols The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band formed in London in 1975. Although they initially lasted just two and a half years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols, they are considered one of the most influential acts in the history more.

They're very good but I have to admit johnny rotten and Sid vicious are overrated. Steve jones and Paul cook don't get much respect. Neither did the original bassist glen mattock.

Couldn't sing couldn't play Sid vicious seemed like a moron, there were so many other great punk bands The clash, ramones to name a few - ChatonNoir

This should be higher, because they made only 1 album which wasn't good in my opinion - Disturbedpotato

Didn't the Sex Pistols only release one album? For some reason Nevermind seems like a punk album and getting all the creidt when the sex pistols did the same damn thing first. - frankmartin

This band are known for Eye Of The Tiger, not overrated. - malamJONES

They had one song

The band is most well known for the song Eye of the Tiger but had at least a half dozen top 40 hits in the 1980s. songs like Is This Love, How Much Love, The Search is Over, High On You, I Can't Hold Back. Most of their albums were melodic enjoyable pop rock but a little on the generic 80s side. - frankmartin

The band's current line-up comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist Tim McIlrath, lead guitarist Zach Blair, bassist Joe Principe and drummer Brandon Barnes. They are known for popularizing punk.

Rise against should be no where near this list! They are not even close to being as popular as they should be!
Just because they have a ton of good songs doesn't mean they're overrated!

They aren't even good...

70 Rush Rush Rush is a Canadian progressive rock band that was formed in 1968. Even though the only founding member still in the band is Alex Lifeson (Guitar), the band is most well-known for their current members Neil Peart (Drums) and Geddy Lee (Bass, Vocals). more.

Rush is not overrated at all. They're an immensely talented, groundbreaking band. Apart from a few misfires they've mostly put out excellent prog-rock, and their most recent album is one of their absolute best, highly admirable effort for a band over 40 years old.

I think that Rush is UNDERRATED, not overrated. They shouldn't be on this list.

Yeah, as musical artists they are underrated, but as a rock band they are totally overrated! - somekindofaguy

Rush is very overrated. U either like them or u hate them and I hate them

When I first heard them I thought it was bad.But I thought,Good for girls,they're playing rock.But no,its 3 boys.

RUSH is like listening to Pink listen, you don't do anything isn't about scoring with chicks, you missed that decade when it was about hair metal. - frankmartin

Never even heard of them so they can't be overrated.

No they are pretty popular, you specifically knowing about hem shows more about you, then them actually being overrated. - imabigpotato

73 Journey Journey Journey is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1973, composed of former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch.

While their music is good, I do not think they are amazing as everyone says. "Don't Stop Believin'" already sounds like a cliche song already.

Personally, I think they are one of the most overrated out of all the classic rock bands.

REMEMBER, Overrated, Not Worst.

Don't Stop Believing is really overrated. Faithfully and Stone in Love are both excellent, but Don't Stop Believing is so OVERRATED!

'Don't stop believing' is terribly overrated and it's not that good. But it's only one song so...

They are good but way to overrated for one song

75 Oasis Oasis Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Developed from an earlier group, the Rain, the band originally consisted of Liam Gallagher (vocals and tambourine), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll.

Ugh. If it wasn't for Wonderwall (an already annoying song), this band wouldn't be even included in this list. Why? Because no one would ever care. They're overrated, and yet, so irrelevant.

Boring songs, tried so hard to sound like the Beatles, didn't succeed in that. Yeah really overrated - ChatonNoir

Gotta be the biggest rip off band ever, they claimed to be the modern day Beatles, but really were a third rate Slade. Along with those other two bob British northen bands 'the stone roses' and primal scream. When the British music press starts to get a 'scene going' they champion any third rate chancer"s that starts acting up and drops there trousers for the camera. See Blur, manic street cleaners, pulp, the clash. The list is endless. Someone had to say it.

76 The Who The Who The Who is an English rock band formed in London, England in 1964 . The members are Roger Daltrey (lead singer), Pete Townshend (guitarist), John Entwistle (bassist), and Keith Moon (drums). They are best known for their live performances and hit songs Baba O'Riley, My Generation, and Won't Get Fooled more.

The who is probably one of the most underrated rock bands far from overrated have any of you who voted even listened to a who song? good lyrics great drums great bass great guitar good voice All of the members were put on the greatest bassists, drummers, guitarists, and singers list of all time by rolling stones that must mean something

The who were totally unique and so exciting as a band. I think for creativeness they actually beat both the stones and the Beatles. They had a sick sense of humour, did powerful rock songs with great guitar riffs, they made bluesy stuff, epthey were inspired by Motown soul, they tried rock opera stuff... Very versatile and cool members and the worlds coolest drummer ever - ChatonNoir

The who is not overrated. Even if they are, they deserve all the credit they deserve and miles more. They practically invented the hard rock genre and were the biggest inspiration to classic rock today other than the Beatles.

Album classics like Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia...rock classic like My Generation, Won't Get Fooled Again, Pinball Wizard, See me, feel me, touch me, You Better You Bet, Long Live Rock, Baba O'Reilly, Behind Blue Eyes... - frankmartin

Which Arse hole added them on this list...and all those dickheads (never listened to a single song of this sensational band) babble that they are purely pop band needs to get their ears checked and seek appointment for a mental therapy...They are a Pop-Rock band morons and there is a significant difference between the kind of song produce by them and the sorts produced by the Pop Band..(O I forgot you all just came here to bash them because they they're just too good and deservingly popular and boy you can't stand it)...

Sellout pop band. - naFrovivuS

So overrated

So overrated

Do they ever actually play anything or do they stand there trying to look badass on the rock movie channel?

79 Dir en grey Dir en grey DIR EN GREY is a Japanese metal band formed in 1997 and currently signed to Firewall Div., a sub-division of Free-Will.

there are so many annoying fangirls that are interested in looks and trends but without those bands who influenced them like D'ERLANGER, X-JAPAN, those fangirls should realize that this is not the only good band in japan - ronluna

Dir en grey? I wouldn't call them overrated. Just that some fans are annoying. And interested in their looks? That might have been about 10 years ago when they were VK but now they look like a normal metal band, none of them is especially attractive (not even when they were VK), and I appreciate that even not being attractive, people love them because hell, their music is awesome and shouldn't be based on looks. @ ronluna, I love X Japan and I like a few songs from D'erlanger, but DEG was not inspired by neither band. Kyo was inspired by Buck-Tick, so get your facts straight.

80 Three Days Grace Three Days Grace Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1997 with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. They aren't overrated but the irony is they made a song called Overrated - christangrant

They aren't overrated, but the animal I have become is - imabigpotato
