Most Popular NFL Teams

The Top Ten
1 Packers The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division. The Packers have won 4 Super Bowls and 13 NFL championships.

The Packers are the only publicly owned team and are objectively great. Enough said. They're also not so dominant that they're never considered underdogs. When was the last time you heard the Steelers, Cowboys, or Patriots described as underdogs? Exactly. People enjoy cheering for the underdogs. While the Cowboys and Patriots may come off as arrogant, the Steelers, though impressive, can sometimes seem too impressive. Some flaws add charm. The Packers consistently deliver exciting games and are usually excellent, but their occasional off-games add even more tension.

2 Patriots The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. New England Patriots are one of the few teams to have 5+ wins in the Super Bowl.

Did the Patriots outscore the Colts 28-0 in the third and fourth quarters? Yes. After the refs checked the PSI? Yes. Deflategate is a joke. At max PSI, they smoked the Colts, then won the Super Bowl. Don't you think the league checks them every game? And still, with three wide receivers, a handful of offensive linemen, and a running back out, they are 10-0. The fact is, all NFL teams try to get an edge. Take the Patriots' offensive weapons away, fill the balls to the max PSI, and they still almost have the AFC locked down by week 11. People just like to complain.

The Patriots are amazing! I am really glad they are number one. Also, to all you Steelers fans, having the most Super Bowl wins doesn't necessarily make a team the best. Now, I'm not saying the Steelers aren't good, but they aren't the best. They lost to the Jets this season and have lost to the Cowboys and the Packers in the Super Bowl.

3 Steelers The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that competes in the National Football League. Pittsburgh Steelers have won the most Super Bowls with 6 which currently stands today.

I was born in Florida but have spent most of my life in Dallas, Texas. I have never been to Pittsburgh, not yet anyway. However, I am a die-hard Steelers fan. I bleed black and gold.

I used to hate football. Now I love it! I even bought a book to teach me more about the sport, which I have been following for the past 10 years. Everywhere I go, I meet Steelers fans - in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and even Antarctica!

How did I become a Steelers fan? My ex-husband, who was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Yes, sir!

I'm almost 50 years old and have been a Steelers fan since I was 7. I've lived in PA, NC, and Florida while growing up. Everywhere I've ever been has Steelers fans. Every person I've ever known has told me they can't travel anywhere in the world - whether with one military branch or another - and not find Steelers bars and fans. I've never seen Patriots fans wearing jerseys or heard a peep out of them for most of my life. When you consider statistics, you have to look at the size of the database used and how the data was gathered. There's no way the Patriots have the most fans on God's green Earth.

4 Cowboys The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.

Ten years down the road, when Brady is out and the Patriots are just an average team, they won't have a shot at this list. There are only a few teams that can make this list without having gone to a Super Bowl in more than 20 years. Only teams like Green Bay, Pittsburgh, and Dallas will still make the top five year in and year out.

Because everyone knows that when Jerry Jones is out of the way, the Cowboys will be on top again. Until then, we just have to hope for luck, but the fans will be there cheering. Whether they're in first place or last, the Cowboys will always be "America's Team"!

5 Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional football franchise based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.

The Philadelphia Eagles and their fans are the craziest, most loyal, and funniest family I have ever seen. The Eagles are a part of every Philly person's family. Whether you as an individual like them or not, someone in your family does! Even though they haven't won a Super Bowl yet, they will not give up. And the fans won't either. They come back every year to support the birds because they are family to us. Philly knows that one day this NFL team will be in the Hall of Fame and everyone is going to know their name. That's the definition of loving football and loving a football team.
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

6 Seahawks The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football franchise based in Seattle, Washington. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference West division.

Even though the Packers are #1 on this list, I like that they are owned by shareholders, who are mostly fans. This has kept the team afloat in a small city for a century. We are a likable team, even if we don't surpass the Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, or even the Packers in popularity. If we don't get any louder, we can remain loyal without hopping on the bandwagon. This team should have played in Boise or Salem instead of Seattle. Smaller cities are better for the NFL than bigger cities. Still, Go Hawks!

Let's stay at #5. The Cowboys are #1, followed by the Patriots at #2, Steelers at #3, and Packers at #4, to be fair by popularity. But we can be just as loyal without joining the bandwagon. The Chiefs and Packers are as rowdy as we are, if not louder. We just don't need to surpass the top four teams. But still, Go Hawks!

7 Broncos The Denver Broncos are an American football team based in Denver, Colorado. The Broncos compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.

Prior to 1970, when the Denver Broncos of the AFL became part of the NFL, they have been a model of excellence. They have won the Super Bowl three times and appeared a record-tying eight times. They reached the NFL's pinnacle of success by appearing in the Super Bowl in the '70s, '80s, '90s, were absent in the '00s, and appeared twice again in the '10s.

There have been record sellout crowds consistently since 1970. The city and metropolitan region showed their support in a region-wide ballot measure to construct one of the more architecturally interesting stadiums in the NFL. Without a doubt, the reigning champions have been and will continue to be one of the NFL elite for many decades to come. BRONCOS!

8 Giants The New York Giants are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area.

They're really likable. I'm a Giants fan and I don't hear as much hate towards us or the Redskins compared to the Cowboys and Eagles. You can't hate Eli Manning. The dude is a clutch QB, never says anything bad about anybody, and is as calm as they come. Bonus points for beating New England twice in the Super Bowl. Plus, OBJ is popular and Cruz used to be one of the best and most hyped receivers in his prime. Not to forget, the fans who fill MetLife even if they're going 6-10.

I was raised in Maryland but born in Brooklyn, NY. Here's some history:
The first player to spike the ball after a touchdown? Homer Jones, N.Y. Giants.
The first team to give their coach a Gatorade bath? N.Y. Giants.
Who invented the 4-3 defense? Tom Landry, defensive coordinator, N.Y. Giants.
And which team's fans started the "De-fense!" chant? The N.Y. Giants.

9 49ers The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The 49ers are the best. I have been faithful to them since I was born, back when they were a really good team. I mean, look at Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. All the Seahawks and Patriots fans jump on the bandwagon because they're all like, Ooh, the Seahawks beat the 49ers once. So what? Just stay loyal to your team. Also, the Patriots are okay, but their problem is that their fans don't even watch the games and brag about them. Go 49ers!

They have had the best football team ever, with Joe Montana and Jerry Rice at the top of the list. They were the first team to ever win five Super Bowls. They changed the game forever. They're simply the best!

10 Raiders The Las Vegas Raiders are a professional American football franchise based in Las Vegas. The Raiders began playing in 1960 as a member club of the American Football League; they have been a member club of the National Football League since the 1970 AFL–NFL merger... read more

I really don't care who they might say is the most popular team. When it comes to the Hall of Fame and who was the toughest team in the '60s, '70s, and '80s, no one did it like the Raiders with all their hard-hitting players. Now that they are leaving Oakland for a second time to essentially enter the LA market via Vegas, I'm still going to watch the Silver and Black for free on TV, out of respect for those real Raiders who played the game well.

Where do I even start with the Raiders? "We just win, baby!" The Raiders may not be the most skilled at the moment, but they are definitely an up-and-coming team with great chemistry between Derek Carr and Amari Cooper. We have some of the most loyal, loud, and enthusiastic fans (in a good way). I can't wait to see how the rest of their season goes after this promising 3-1 start!

The Contenders
11 Colts The Indianapolis Colts are an American football team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Colts compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division.

I have lived in Indianapolis for almost my whole life. I am a Colts fan because every Sunday, I would come home from church, get some lunch, and watch the game from my family's bar in the basement. I would go to a Colts game at least once every season.

The Colts are very good and deserve to be ranked higher. They have loyal, respectful fans who cheer on their team no matter what. I went to a Colts game against the Raiders, and although they lost, their fans stayed the whole time to show respect.

The Colts have produced some of the best quarterbacks, second only to the 49ers. They are responsible for Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas, and Andrew Luck. They are the third most winning team in the past decade. Apart from Irsay and Chuck Pagano, I love this team.

12 Ravens The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference North division.

Definition of underdog. Definition of family. Harbaugh is a player's coach and a community coach. This team bred an all-star defense led by Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, and Haloti Ngata. Flacco is a relatable guy who plays to win and doesn't care about stats and numbers. Justin Tucker is a godsend, making kickers relevant with his outgoing and energetic personality, even if he is a little quirky. Steve Smith and Eric Weddle brought extra fire to the team after older veterans retired. OJ Brigance is the behind-the-scenes heart and soul of this team. I don't think I've seen any other team do as much for their community and players as the Ravens have. They embody heart, determination, work ethic, love, brotherhood, confidence, and resolve. These guys have a special magic that other teams don't possess.

13 Lions The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Lions compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division... read more

The Lions may be a joke to Bears and Packers fans, but this franchise isn't so bad at all. My favorite team in the NFL is the Lions. They started out in 1930 as the Portsmouth (Ohio) Spartans. The franchise won NFL championships in 1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957. Although the Lions haven't won or been to a Super Bowl, they did lose in the NFC championship to the Washington Redskins in 1991. It turns out that the franchise has its merits, and fans just can't get enough of Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford.

This franchise is on the rise! Many people say that we're doomed now that Calvin Johnson is gone, but I think otherwise. I believe that every single member of the team will seriously step up their game now that the league's greatest weapon no longer plays for them. I also truly believe that the Lions will win Super Bowl 51! Go Detroit!

14 Panthers The Carolina Panthers are a professional American football team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, that competes in the National Football League.

Great team, always showing support and love for the fan base in a smaller market, major city. The owner respects their players, fans, and interest groups (e.g., military, kids, etc.). Tickets are fairly priced, and all seats in the stadium are good for viewing. Parking around the stadium is reasonable, with a short walk to the field. Just be sure to enter at the gate you're supposed to. The contracted and untrained staff is the only downfall to the experience. #keeppounding

The Panthers don't have as established a fan base as other legendary teams that have won Super Bowls, such as the Seahawks and Ravens. The Carolinas are a smaller market. A Super Bowl win and more seasons like the past two years will go a long way in making people realize that the team is more than just Cam. That said, I love Cam! Go Panthers!

15 Dolphins The Miami Dolphins are a professional American football franchise located in the Miami metropolitan area.

By far, the Dolphins have the best jersey in the entire NFL. Fans of the Dolphins are warm, friendly, and inviting. However, on Monday nights, we might be a bit more animated. This is definitely a family-friendly team with a similarly family-friendly fan base. On a typical Sunday at a Dolphins game, you'll find families just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

As for fans of other teams, they often come across as the opposite. Many seem to be filled with negativity: they're thugs, convicts, alcoholics, addicts, and so on. Where do these people come from? It's as if they're walking manifestations of evil. While their fans seem to despise life and release all their hatred during the three hours on Sunday, Dolphins fans have a different mindset. Life is good for us. We genuinely enjoy our team, the people around us, and the place we live in.

We are not like fans of "Steeler Nation" or "Raider Nation," who get overly emotional when their teams lose. Nor are we like the fans of New York teams - Jets, Giants, Bills, or whatever they're calling themselves these days - who are simply unbearable. We Dolphins fans are generally a very loving group. It's easy to live a good life when you're not in a place like Boston, filled with people who seem to ignore the Constitution and act hypocritically.

Once the game is over, regardless of who wins, we go on with our lives and appreciate all that life has to offer. While fans of other NFL teams seem to take pride in lowering their IQs, we Dolphins fans aim to elevate ours. Miami Dolphins are number one.

16 Falcons The Atlanta Falcons are a professional American football team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Falcons compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference South division.

Atlanta, Georgia, is a big city. They have a basketball team (Hawks), a baseball team (Braves), and most importantly, the football team, the Falcons, have the second-highest chance to go to the Super Bowl. (Look it up.)

I love the Falcons. They have Julio Jones, Matt Ryan, and Devonta Freeman. They are a wonderful team and might even win the Super Bowl in 2017! I think they are the best team in the NFL and should be the most popular.

They are very good. They just need to work on defense. P.S., at least they didn't lose 19 to 34. Losing by one touchdown is not that bad either. Also, because of their skill level, they made history in the Super Bowl by playing the first overtime game! They even have the MVP, Matt Ryan.

17 Bengals The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football franchise based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Bengals currently compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference North division.

The Bengals may not be the best team, but they've been making a comeback in recent years. I've loved the Bengals all my life, even though they've had their struggles. What makes me support the Bengals is their hard work to improve, their beautiful uniforms - which I think are the best in the NFL - and finally, just for being a loyal fan. I grew up in Ohio and now live in Virginia, where there are Steelers, Redskins, and Cowboys fans. I can't stand any of them.
Hoo they!

I have been a Cincinnati fan since I was about six years old. At first, they weren't very good, but I didn't care. I loved staying loyal to my team no matter what, and it made the wins even more satisfying. Recently, things have started to turn around, and now I can appreciate winning again.
Who they! For life.

18 Bears The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division.

One of the founding father franchises of the NFL, the Bears will always be one of the best in the league. Today's elite teams can't match our history or traditions. Regardless of records, we will always be one of the best.

The Bears and Packers have two of the most consistently loyal fan bases in the league. Most of the teams at the top are good right now but usually don't have fans when they aren't dominant.

Bears are the best, and their fans travel well. I've seen stadiums where we were the visitors, and we had more fans cheering for the Bears than the home team had.

19 Saints The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Saints currently compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference South division.

The Saints are the best team on Earth, and that Super Bowl 44 win was amazing. No wonder Drew has a 5,000+ season average and 30+ touchdowns!

Should be higher up, definitely above Dallas. The Saints have replaced them as America's team!

I'm a huge Saints fan. I feel sorry for them, though. They lost J. Vilma, so they are getting ready to turn into the Aints.

20 Chargers The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in Los Angeles. The Chargers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.

The Chargers have been my favorite team since fourth grade. I don't look at them as my favorite football team, but as part of my family.

The Chargers are definitely in the top three in Mexico, so they should be in the top 10.

The Chargers are a clutch team. They should definitely be in the top 10 at least.

21 Commanders The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

In 2020, Washington after 87 years got rid of the Redskins trademark due to it being labeled racist to native culture. It was named the Washington Football Team until February... read more

I'm a die-hard Redskins fan and I have been to many Redskins games. Everyone is chanting "Hail to the Redskins." Every time I go to a Redskins game, it's always so loud and intense. I never see a single Redskins fan sitting in their chair when the Redskins have the ball.

Yes, I know that the Redskins haven't been that successful, but all I know is that all the Redskins fans out there always stick with their team no matter what. I know for a fact that all Redskins fans are die-hard fans. In 2014, we went 4-12, but no one gave up on them. I think that's what makes Redskins fans unique compared to fans of other NFL teams. So I think they should be at least in the top 10. HTTR SKINSNATION

22 Vikings The Minnesota Vikings are an American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1960, and first took the field for the 1961 season.

Here's why the Vikings are one of the top American football teams. They are the youngest team - yet also one of the most disadvantaged - in terms of playoff appearances among the top five teams. People often say the Vikings are disappointing, but consider this: in the NFL, the best teams get the worst draft picks and the worst teams get the best draft picks. This makes both the best and worst teams volatile. To consistently be close to the top is quite an achievement. Again, the Vikings are the youngest team with the most playoff appearances in the top five.

23 Jaguars The Jacksonville Jaguars are an American professional football franchise based in Jacksonville, Florida.

I know tons of people who like the Jags. Sure, they're not the most popular team, but this year, almost everyone was rooting for the Jags in the playoffs.

The Jaguars are first in their division. They have a 77.6% chance of making the playoffs! Go Jags! I'm from Chicago!

I'm from New York. I hate the Bills. I hate the Giants. I hate the Patriots. I hate the Cowboys. I love the Jaguars.

24 Chiefs The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.

Honestly they are the new patriots, and Mahomes is the new brady but not in the good way. The chiefs now have the biggest bandwagon fanbase and tbh every chiefs fan I've encountered has been unbearably annoying. just because you one a super bowl doesn't mean you guys are the best, not even close, not even a top 10 franchise of all time.

If we cheated as much as a few other teams in the AFC, we'd have about six Super Bowl championships. We'd rather win with integrity than to stoop to dirty antics.

Chiefs are clearly #1 Mahomes is amazing, young and has a whole career ahead of him. Plus he is a Christian which makes all the better! Go Chiefs!

25 Bills The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area that competes in the National Football League. Buffalo Bills had the longest playoff drought of any team which came to an end in 2017.

I am proud to support the Bills no matter their season record or overall record. This is a group of people who have endured great losses - losing four Super Bowls, having the longest playoff drought, and experiencing the death of owner Ralph Wilson - yet they conquer it. I see a new era for them, and a trip to even the playoffs would breathe new life into the franchise. The fans love the team, and the team loves the fans. We are the original 12th man, after all. We stand with them through everything, so go Bills! Just one win before I die!
