Top Ten Most Psychedelic Songs Ever

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Revolution 9 - The Beatles

It's easy to say they were high when they made this.

A strange song that defines The Beatle's psychedelic song writing.
Very strange song indeed.

22 A Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum

I like this song, and I love this band. Procol Harum released this song as a single, and on their first self-titled album in the same year, and that would be in 1967. This song has psychedelic aspects, however, it has classical aspects as well, among with baroque pop and baroque music. These mixtures may form some progressive rock music. So overall, great song, but it is much more progressive than psychedelic in it.

Defined British psychedelic music. Classic song - Indiechild

Best single of all time. Love it

One of my personal favorites of all time, but it's a protoprog song not a psychedelic one

23 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

This will be played on my funeral. Magnificent song

Folk rock, hard rock. Not psych rock. - zxm

24 Within You Without You - The Beatles
25 Mr. Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan

Hunter S Thompson said that this song was the "hippy anthem". Truly a great song. It was hard to pick something over Jefferson Airplane, but this was the perfect song.

26 Only a Northern Song - The Beatles

While this probably ISN'T the Beatles MOST psychedelic song... It's a damn good choice, congrats to whoever nominated it.

Its psycedelic, but is also just one of the best and most underrated songs ever

By the point the beatles stop in the 1970s they are still pretty popular and when I play minecraft I listen to them while I'm playing

This song rules. trippy

29 The Elements: Fire (Miss O'Leary's Cow) - The Beach Boys V 1 Comment
30 Eight Miles High - The Byrds

This is an early example of early mainstream psychedelic rock. This song was released in 1966, and was considered by many Americans to be influencial to psychedelic rock songs later on. For example, the song "Dance The Night Away," recorded and written by Cream the next year in 1967, was influenced by Eight Miles High. Great song!

This was so early, it was banned for using the word high! Great feedback drumming.

31 Have You Ever Seen the Rain? - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Coming down from a trip, watching the rain pour from outside my window. And I was just so happy due to the experience that for me it was a "sunny" happy day even though I could see the rain.

This I believe will jump to the top of the list, if you know what it means. ahh the lyics, ahh the rhythm. no waste.

32 Three Little Birds - Bob Marley V 1 Comment
33 2000 Light Years from Home - The Rolling Stones

Does a remarkable job of actually capturing the flavor of an acid trip.

Absolute essence of the psychedelic sound.

34 Psychodrama City - The Byrds
35 Inside People - The Freeborne
36 Lucifer Sam - Pink Floyd

That cats something I can't explain! Beautiful song

It should be much higher on the list man.

37 Grantchester Meadows - Pink Floyd

That might be the best song to be stoned to alone. You forget about all worries and your spirit is just in another world. Totally psychedelic, but not cliché psychedelic.

38 The L.S. Bumble Bee - Peter Cook & Dudley Moore
39 Love Is Only Sleeping - The Monkees

A terrific song that originally was to be paired with Daydream Believer as a 45. AMAZING Mike vocal!

40 The Devil's Triangle - King Crimson
