Most Underrated Albums of the '70s

The Top Ten
1 Jolene - Dolly Parton

Look at the cover shot of Dolly, with a look that screamed This album will be my big pop crossover! The two singles Jolene and I Will Always Love You were superbly arranged to sound either country or pop, depending on who was listening. There aren't too many albums where both singles were so fantastic. The question can never be answered to why this album was not a monster hit.

Great hits 'Jolene' and 'I Will Always Love You' but the album wasn't that successful in sales

2 Animals - Pink Floyd
3 First Utterance - Comus
4 In Trance - Scorpions
5 Something Else - Shirley Bassey
6 Night In the Ruts - Aerosmith

One of their greatest albums that deserved better sales and acclaim

7 Wind & Wuthering - Genesis
8 Nightflight to Venus - Boney M
9 Half-Breed - Cher
10 Raised on Rock - Elvis Presley
The Contenders
11 The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis

Boney M is an underrated band. Rasputin, Ma Baker, and The Rivers of Babylon: how much more evidence do you need?

The most underrated of all the Rush albums. Even the band thinks that it's a flop, but the fans think that it's absolutely amazing.
