61 Poets of the Fall

This is an amazing band, but they are underrated. Which is a good thing. I'm not gonna force everyone who doesn't know this band to listen to them, because we all know what happens to popular music bands overtime. But speaking of the band, The Distance is my favorite song!

Poets of the Fall is terrific!

I bet no one has even heard their songs... The ones who have heard know that this band is simply the greatest of all time... It's not about whether the music is complex, it's about the music which stirs your soul.
"Without silence, there can be no music"

Laugh out loud 37th on the list.. Should be first.. I am kidding? Then listen just any song of this band... The amazing thing about this band - All songs are beautiful

Because excellent doesn't always mean it's popular.

You have to understand what underrated means. Most of these bands are everything but underrated

This is the only band in the top ten that is underrated. - IronSabbathPriest

Hey, they are group, 2 - difference: it has 2 members - just like their song "Sound of Silence" (lyric: People talking without speaking)
People deciding without analizing

P. S. : Let me tell you one more thing; their very best songs like "The Boxer" and the "Sound of Silence" weren't arranged by any other person... - heaven

68 Red Red Red is an American rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2002. The band's lineup consists of singer Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, and bassist Randy Armstrong.

Why is megadeth on here, I love megadeth but they're not at all underrated, they're one of the best bands in the world (in terms of metal) so why are they on this list?

70 Avantasia Avantasia Avantasia is a German supergroup rock opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.

Just listen to reach out for the light to see

72 They Might Be Giants They Might Be Giants They Might Be Giants is an American alternative rock band formed in 1982 by John Flansburgh and John Linnell.

They Might Be Giants is one of only a few bands on this list that actually are legitimately underrated.

This band DESERVES Beatles status! Those Beatles asses plagiarized all the stuff they're credited with, INCLUDING STEALING CREDIT FROM AND DOWNRIGHT DISRESPECTING THE KING HIMSELF! This band steals credit from NO ONE! If the Beatles were still writing songs in the nineties, there is NO WAY IN HELL they would have thought of writing a collection of short songs for a big part of one album to take advantage of the then-revolutionary shuffle feature on CD players! To properly enjoy Apollo 18, put the album on shuffle before playing it! Beatles fans can STFU and die! I know the truth!

Lets be honest here, tmbg has basically changed the way music as a whole is marketed. - queen11

They Might Be Giants have the best experimental songs you can find. Yoiu can't get much better!

73 Radiohead Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

One of the best bands of all time and only the people from the 21st century know of oasis, the smiths and the stone roses. They don't get any recognition any more and it's quite sad in a way. Thom Yorke has outstanding lyrics and Jonny Greenwood is just on a completely different level to most musicians. And to think they've been going for nearly 30 years. Very underrated indeed.

My favourite band of all time: I also recommend Velvet Underground and Smashing Pumpkins.

Not underrated good but sure as hell ain't underrated

Radiohead is possibly the best band of the 90's. Infact, I would go far enough to say that they are the best band of the 90's. The reasons for this decision are endless but here are a few:
1. Radiohead brought back rock and roll and revolutionized it into modern rock.
2. Radiohead has one of the most diversied sounds to their albums.
3. Paranoid Android is genius, musically and lyrically.
4. Transitioning from each album to the next is out of this world. (Planet Telex, Airbag, Everything in it's right place)
5. These guys are STILL going at it and making great music.

I love Nirvana, RHCP, Pearl Jam, and the Foo Fighters, but have any of these bands done what Radiohead has? Think about that...

74 MGMT MGMT MGMT is an American rock band formed in 2002 by Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden. After the release of their first album, the members of their live band, Matthew Asti, James Richardson and Will Berman, joined the core band in the studio.

Pink Floyd, queen, and system aren't underrated like this band is. Fleetwood mac is though, had to vote for this one cause it was way down. Another underrated band is peter bjorn and john in my opinion

Some of their best songs are the most underrate, kids somewhat cought on but I would not say that it showed their more thoughtful side.

75 3 Doors Down 3 Doors Down 3 Doors Down is an American rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi that formed in 1996. The band originally consisted of Brad Arnold (vocals/drums), Todd Harrell (bass guitar) and Matt Roberts (guitar). They were soon joined by guitarist Chris Henderson, and later by drummer Richard Liles. V 1 Comment
76 The Police The Police The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For the majority of their history, the band consisted of Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. They are most known for their songs "Message In A Bottle", "Don't Stand So Close To Me", "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", "Roxanne", ...read more.

In six years, they released five very good albums including at least two classics (Zenyatta Mondatta and Synchronicity), wrote countless chart-topping singles, and helped invent new wave. Not too shabby.

They almost invented punk. Songs like "Roxanne" "message in a bottle", and so forth were very catchy and fast paced as it made way for reggae as well

Couldn't stay alive that much but even just 6 years can describe the extraordinary(and great) style of they have - heaven

77 Blink 182 Blink 182 Blink-182 are a Pop Punk band formed in 1992. Original lineup were Mark Hoppus (Bass Guitar, Vocals) ...read more.

Actually have a good range of playful, punk pop songs. Why they've never earned even 1 Grammy is beyond me.

Blink 182 has a variety of serious and joke songs, and Travis(the drummer) is actually one of-if not the-best drummers I've ever heard.

78 Boston Boston Boston is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, that achieved their most notable successes during the 1970s and 1980s.

Absolutely fantastic band. Perfect guitars, drums, and vocals.

This list could very well be re named worlds most popular bands

79 Triumph Triumph Triumph is a Canadian hard rock power trio that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Between the band's 16 albums and DVDs, Triumph has received 18 gold and 9 platinum awards in Canada and the United States.

A phenomenal band whose musical prowess is quite frankly unparalleled by nearly all. Consisting of merely 3 members, Rik Emmett mixes soothing classical guitar playing with hard, fast, hard rock shredding to compose some of the most prodigious and intricate riffs and verses, kept in beat by the wonderfully rhythmical beats of Gil Moore on drums and sharing lead vocals with Emmett, along with the bass of Mike Levine. This band surpasses all that I have ever heard, which is an extremely extensive list rangin from both extremely popular and almost unheard of bands from the 60's to early 90's.

Forgot how good they were, maybe top five all time

80 Crush 40

Very underrated. great band and music.
