21 Exodus Exodus Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979 in Richmond, California. Spanning a career of 37 years, Exodus has gone through numerous lineup changes, two extended hiatuses, and the deaths of two former band members.

Recently discovered how awesome Exodus are. Fabulous Disaster is so good an album I bought it after listening to each song first. A true Thrash band that won't go down without a fight, so get off your ass and Toxic Waltz!

They are the only metal band I know that has been improving over time - every next album is better than the previous one. Altogether 10 albums and almost 30 years of exemplary musicianship.

I just listened to their 2015 album and I have nothing but admiration for them! Similarly to other people, I'm also beginning to think that Blind Guardian are comparable to Maiden and Priest in terms of quality and consistency. And never seeing them in the top 10 best bands breaks my heart - instead of true metal bands like Blind Guardian I usually see poser bands in the top 10s. - Metal_Treasure

These guys are very good and their amount of skill and talent shows in their music. Every album they make, they aim to surpass their last, and they do it every time. These guys have quality music and their skill is way beyond any other metal band I've heard

SO under-rated! Can knock anyone off their pedestal!

Based on their awesome 2015 album - Blind Guardian are also the new gods of symphonic metal! - Metal_Treasure

24 Disturbed Disturbed Disturbed is an American heavy metal band from Chicago, Illinois . The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren . They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken" .

I don't know why a7x is at the top. If anything they're overrated because they sold out and copied Metallica on hail to the king and were in 2 Call of Duty games. So underrated is not them. Granted I still like their music but disturbed has still sold more records and has done better and is just an amazing band who cares more about the music than the fame. Extremely talented and TRUE musicians

David Draiman's amazing vocals are way too underrated. Why is Avenged Sevenfold on the top? Ask anyone who Avenge Sevenfold is and they'll know. Ask anyone who Disturbed is and you'll find less people know.

DISTURBED IS UNDERRATED? I Love Disturbed and yet not many people know them? That is a BIG shock to me. - MusicalPony

Yes, people don't know about this heavy metal kings. They are writing nice songs. If you are talking about "underrated bands". Disturbed is the most underrated band of all times, I guess.

They're good, but not overrated.

Hey ax7 is way too overrated to be underrated guys... Look at shinedown they are a record making band and no1 knows about 'em - ror":{ "message":"(#803)someof

Bro, they are NOT METAL - they are mostly hard rock, post-grunge and some alternative metal. And alternative metal has little metal in it. - Metal_Treasure

Sound of Madness was a killer album

I LOVE "Bully" AND "Her Name Is Alice"

30 Gojira Gojira Gojira is a progressive metal band from Bayonne, France. The band was known as Godzilla until 2001. Gojira is composed of Joe Duplantier on vocals and rhythm guitar, his brother Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on lead guitar, and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass.

All of their songs have epic openings, unrivaled (currently, Death was good...) technical death metal vocals, and genius poetic lyrics. - GREATEST

So so heavy. Listen to them live to get what I mean. This guys vocals are beast, and the drummer has the best groove. Listen to "Explosia", "The Art of Dying", "Toxic Garbage Island" and "Ocean Planet". Amazing

Awesome band. Deserve way more credit and exposure than what they get. Avenged seven fold? Haha if they are so underrated why are they no. 7 in the best metal bands of all time top ten list?

33 Primal Fear Primal Fear Primal Fear are a German metal band formed in 1997 by Ralf Scheepers and Mat Sinner. They play heavy metal, power metal and speed metal. Primal Fear remind of Judas Priest but Primal Fear are faster and heavier. They use twin (dual) lead guitars. Ralf Scheepers voice reminds of Rob Halford.

These guys are keeping metal traditions alive - they are the most successful attempt to revive traditional metal of Judas Priest type by adding some fresh air.

Without bands like Primal Fear, after several years nobody will know how the pure metal sounds! I'm sick and tired of new poser bands that don't even sound like metal but are labeled as metal or pseudo-metalheads consider them metal... And I see those posers on the top of every list - they are more popular than the true metal bands! This is the bitter truth - all true metal bands are underrated!

Listen to pure metal and don't waste your time with poser metal bands. Songs of Primal Fear are perfectly written and performed - memorable riffs, choruses, solos. Awesome twin lead guitars, harmonies. All band members show musicianship - remarkable vox, drums, guitars, bass.
Songs: King For A Day, Strike, All for One, Rebel Faction. - Metal_Treasure

Great band! Most of today's people don't like metal music, because it's "evil" and "satanic" but if you listen to their lyrics you see that they are made with heart and soul and that's why today's awesome metal bands are underrated like this guys. - tiagocowboy11

One of the best metal band I've ever heard their melody is so soulful yet the screams is so powerful

Makes as good of metal as the best. Pull harder on the strings of your martyr is a modern classic.
