181 Daughtry Daughtry Daughtry is an American rock band formed and fronted by namesake Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. Their self-titled debut album was released in November 2006.
182 Finger Eleven

Most Underrated & hard working band I've ever Known! Better than 200 bands on this list in terms of song writing, riffs, acoustic work everything!

Consistently have the best live performances & Vocals I have ever SEEN!

Finger Eleven Awake And Dreaming Live - a Demonstration to how this is one of the best bands in Canada & how much better they Sound Live compared to My chemical Romance & three days grace & Nickleback & Rage against the machine

183 Black Stone Cherry
184 Boston Boston Boston is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, that achieved their most notable successes during the 1970s and 1980s.

Boston is known for songs like More than a Feeling and Peace of Mind, but they have a bunch of really good songs! Rock and Roll Band, Smokin', Something About You, etc.

They have some really good songs and their guitar and organ combination rocks

185 My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance was an American rock band from Jersey City, New Jersey, active from 2001 to 2013. For much of their career, the band consisted of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, bassist Mikey Way, and drummer Bob Bryar.

Underrated? Please show me an emo teen who doesn't worship them!

Everyone thinks there depressive emo and suicidal but there understanding supportive punk and one of the most underrated bands ever

My Chemica Romance is really underrated. Of course not between ''emo teens'' but both in chart success and in our rock culture. They're really amazing and I can say without a doubt that they write the exceptionally deep lyrics. When people get over all the ''they're ungrateful, suicidial emos'', they could actually enjoy their amazing music. They'de my favourite rock band forever.

186 The Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground was an American rock band, active between 1964 and 1973, formed in New York City.

Best band ever in my eyes. Not only did they sell like garbage within their own time, but they later would be recognized for being so influential. It simply took 30 years for the rest of the world to catch up to what they were doing. Overall great band and everyone should give them a listen. I'm listening to them while I write this. Overall better then these other bands, really. Highly experimental, intelligent, meaningful music here. Listen to their 1967 album, The Velvet Underground and Nico, to start things off then pick up the other ones too. Great great stuff. I'm 17 years old, and I know this stuff is top shelf.

Muse and other overrated crappy "rock" bands over Velvet Underground? What kind of reality this is? Those kids obviously don't even know what underrated means!

Agreed, very underrated. Solid rock. Lou Reed was a pioneer. Still it's hard to listen to him extol the virtues of drug abuse.

One of the most important band ever. Without them no punk - ChatonNoir

187 Black Veil Brides Black Veil Brides Black Veil Brides is an American rock band currently consisting of Andy Biersack (vocals), Jinxx (guitar), Jake Pitts (guitar), Christian Coma (drums) and Ashley Purdy (bass), that formed in 2006 in Ohio. ...read more.

Black Veil Brides are NOT underrated. I rarely ever hear a bad thing about them! All I ever see are teenage girls and guys sporting their t-shirts. They aren't even real metal. They're an unbelievably generic, unoriginal, bland band.

Ew the first thing that comes into my mind when I hear BVB, are those annoying emo teen girls

188 Modest Mouse Modest Mouse Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington, and currently based in Portland, Oregon.

Very underrated, good songs, not a lot of people knew about them until 2004 when "Float On" came out. But still aren't getting the love they deserve.

189 The Jam The Jam

Paul weller's songwriting is second none. Combined with foxton's bass riffs and some tight drumming no one can match the jam for energy or creativity. Very underrated in America.

190 The Byrds The Byrds The Byrds were an American rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1964. The band underwent multiple line-up changes throughout its existence, with frontman Roger McGuinn remaining the sole consistent member, until the group disbanded in 1973. Although they only managed to attain the huge commercial ...read more.

Shocking that this group has been all but forgotten.
At one time they proudly bore the title of "the American Beatles'

191 Yes Yes Yes are an English rock band formed in 1968 by bassist Chris Squire and singer Jon Anderson. They first achieved success in the 1970s with a progressive, art and symphonic style of rock music.

Pioneering Progressive Rock Band, very musical. They deserve better, no doubt. Check out "Yours is No Disgrace"

192 Badfinger Badfinger Badfinger was a British rock band that, in their most prolific lineup, consisted of Pete Ham, Mike Gibbins, Tom Evans, Joey Molland and Bob Jackson.

They were cut too short, if Peter Hamm would not have died we would have heard more of their great music.

193 Wishbone Ash

Argus was great Pilgrimage ahead of it's time...Incredible twin guitars...

194 Volbeat Volbeat Volbeat are a Danish metal band which was formed in Copenhagen. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal and rockabilly.
195 Jefferson Airplane Jefferson Airplane Jefferson Airplane was a San Francisco, California-based band who pioneered the American counterculture movement as well as psychedelic rock. ...read more.
196 Senses Fail

They have a lot of good songs, although most of them revolve around similar topics, mostly alchoholism, betrayal, and unrequited love. However, that being said, they have one quality that makes me love them: The endings to their songs are generally the best part. How annoying is it when a song is good the whole way through and has a really crappy ending? Not with this band.

They have so many good songs and are not as famous as they should be.

197 The Verve The Verve The Verve were an English rock band formed in Wigan in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong became a member at a later date.

They are awesome.. Ashcroft is one of best singers in today's music industry with unbelievable voice. And Mcabbee is just guitar genius. Songs like Weeping Willow, Velvet Morning, On Your Own, Drugs Don't Work, Love Is Noise and many many others are legendary and very very underrated. And all rights for only one song that became popularity which belongs to them - Bittersweet Symphony was wrongfully withdrawn from owners.

198 XTC

An incredibly, criminally underrated band. Huge catalog of complex, imaginative music rivaling the Beatles. To make a "Best of" compilation you could easily fill 4 cds with no bad songs in the bunch.

199 Tad

This band is so underrated that it didn't even make to the underrated list - Meh
