302 Avantasia Avantasia Avantasia is a German supergroup rock opera project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy.

This project is absolutely incredible. The albums are full rock operas full of depth, variance and unearthly composure.

303 Stutterfly

This unorthodox band should be at the very top there the best. Bury Me is One Wicked Song as well as hollow and Fire Whispers. WHY ARE THEY WAY OUT HERE!

305 DragonForce DragonForce DragonForce are a British power metal band based in London, England. Formed in 1999, the group are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game-influenced sound.

I bet many people are going to disagree because of "through the fire and the flames." Most people think that this band is a one-hit wonder, but if you really know more about the band, you won't believe how wrong you will be. The two guitarists, Herman and Sam, were put in the Guitar World Magazine for 50 fastest guitarists, they've been highlighted on magazines for the most successful bands, and has even been nominated for the 2009 Grammy Awards for best metal performance in a song that was NOT through the fire and flames! (It was heroes of our time and They lost to Metallica :( ) listen to more songs from this band and I think you'll believe me!

308 Staind Staind Staind was a heavy metal band formed in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1995. ...read more.

Staind is one of those metal bands that I don't hear a lot of people talk about, and their music is very good. My favorite album by them is Dysfunction, and I'd suggest it to any metal fan.

They have amazing songs. All their albums until the illusion of progress were excellent. It is a shame that they are not famous.

This chick measures up very well with the big boys in metal.

Very catchy and very good. Love them!

314 Saxon Saxon Saxon are an English heavy metal band formed in 1976, in South Yorkshire. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums.

At #179 when I voted, how underrated is that? Great British rock band. Great songs about historical events.

315 Jimmy Eat World Jimmy Eat World Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band from Mesa, Arizona, that formed in 1993. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind.

In my opinion, Jim Adkins is one of the best vocalists of all time. On top of that, he is a very accomplished guitar player as well, playing lead. The band as a whole never seemed to really gain traction. It's just a shame that more people haven't been able to experience their music because of this.

Probably the only band that hasn't been ruined by MTV. That might the reason they're unheard of.

Black Veil Brides are NOT underrated. I rarely ever hear a bad thing about them! All I ever see are teenage girls and guys sporting their t-shirts. They aren't even real metal. They're an unbelievably generic, unoriginal, bland band.

Ew the first thing that comes into my mind when I hear BVB, are those annoying emo teen girls

317 Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson is an American rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Marilyn Manson is so underrated! Everybody judges the way he looks and they don't realise their awesome music! MARILYN MANSON FOREVER!

People judge him and his band because of they're theatrics and terrifying looks, but they're awesome, so many good songs and albums like Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals
