Primus is so underrated! Not only are they great at playing instruments, but they are also great at making music! One of the most original bands to ever release music. And not to mention, their live shows are AMAZING!

Primus is WAY underrated. They have the best bassist to play the instrument, a crazy guitarist, and a plethora of amazing drummers. One of the best bands ever.

Probably the best band ever going strong since the mid 80's... No band sounds like them truly original.

They created new genre and are the only representative in this genre

64 Melvins Melvins The Melvins are an American band that formed in 1983. They usually perform as a trio, but in recent years have performed as a four piece with two drummers.

Should be in the top 5 at least! they helped start grunge and were extremely influential too nirvana

65 King's X

This band is the most underrated band in history. Unique and innovative and absolutely outstanding. as Billy Sheehan Said, they should have been as big as or bigger than U2. Listen to this band and you will agree.

Hands down the most underrated band in the history of music.

One of the best bands to survive the grunge era.

66 Misfits Misfits Misfits are an American Horror Punk band often recognized as the progenitors of the horror punk subgenre, blending punk rock and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery.

Come on guys, they are iconic and their music is cool! How are they so low? The practically originated horror punk.

67 Rhapsody of Fire Rhapsody of Fire

I know that rhapsody of fire is metal, not rock, but there are so many bands hear that are not rock that this list is more rock and metal. Rhapsody of fire is amazing, but nobody listens to them. Their songs are so complex and the lyrics are actually good. They are a million times better than Metallica's more recent albums.

68 Kreator Kreator Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen. Their style of music is similar to that of their compatriots Destruction, Sodom and Tankard; along with those three bands, Kreator has been referred to as one of the "big four" of Teutonic thrash metal, and they are often credited with helping pioneer ...read more.

71 Electric Light Orchestra Electric Light Orchestra The Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock band from Birmingham. They were formed in 1970 by songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne with drummer Bev Bevan.

I love ELO! They have awesome lyrics, catchy melodies, and great talent! I have to say, 'Livin Thing' probably my favorite along with 'Telephone Line' and 'Evil Woman'. It is so sad that not a lot of people listen to them these days. And one last thing, if you like The Beatles, you will probably like ELO because they are similar, but still very different in their own good way!

ELO basically invented their own style of rock n roll and nobody recognizes it. They are legends and always will be. It is sad that people listen to rap when bands like ELO basically use the same instruments and are lot better.

Probably (in my opinion) the most underrated acts of the 1970s and of all time. Do I like other bands more than them, Of course. But ELO is definitely high up there. Their melodies, mixture of pop rock and classical, and their versatility, makes them one of the most massive and sophisticated acts in all of classic rock. They've had tons of hits, but barely any of them get radio play. A definite reccomendation (also "Big Wheels" may be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard)

As Paul McCartney said, "ELO is the son of the Beatles." Their spaceships and strings should be taken seriously.

74 Chevelle Chevelle Chevelle is an American rock band that formed in 1995 in the Chicago suburb of Grayslake, Illinois. The band was originally composed of brothers: Pete Loeffler, Sam Loeffler and Joe Loeffler.

Definitely one of the best bands producing music write now. Their sound is truly amazing for three members. Pete's voice tops 95% of all other metal and Hard Rock bands.

You Rock chevelle, I have everyone of your songs. My favorites are Saturdays, The Clincher, don't Fake this, and Glimpse of a Con.

Chevelle is a fantastic band that every hard rock and alternative metal fan should listen.

Letter from a theif, Jars, The Fad, etc. Best rock band of our generation in my honest opinion

A letter, Saferwaters, And Jars are some of the greatest songs I've ever heard so far. Dispite their newest album, 'La Gargola' not being as great as their previous ones in my opinion, CheVelle is band that will never get old.

77 Gentle Giant Gentle Giant Gentle Giant were a British progressive rock band active between 1970 and 1980. The band was known for the complexity and sophistication of its music and for the varied musical skills of its members.

Underrated even on the underrated list ;-;... It's a crime

Gentle Giant at 99? They're among one of the most overlooked prog bands ever. - naFrovivuS

80 Genesis Genesis Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey in 1967. The most commercially successful and long-lasting line-up includes keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins.

The fact that Genesis is so low on this list proves that society is a complete failure. They are the greatest band ever... no other band can sound like them. Ever.

The 70's Genesis produced some of the most amazing music out there. Their guitarist Steve Hackett innovated two hand tapping and sweep picking (Not Eddie Van Halen or Malmsteen). Tony Banks is one of the most original and tasteful keyboardists out there, same with Phil Collins as a drummer. Mike Rutherford had some great bass lines and Peter Gabriel is a great singer with a unique voice. Together, they produced at least 7 amazing progressive rock albums. Yet they're not as famous as some of the "poser" rock bands out there (that's how I describe bands like AC/DC, Van Halen, Kiss...). - RalphSaad

They are simply the most talented people to ever exist. An immensely brilliant band who made piles of breathtaking songs.

Amazon band!
