121 Type O Negative Type O Negative Type O Negative was an American gothic/doom metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1989. Their lyrical emphasis on themes of romance, depression, and death resulted in the nickname "The Drab Four".

This band is definitely worth a listen. There is a certain mystical quality to their music; almost enchanting. Every album after and including Bloody Kisses is a masterpiece. A few songs I recommend: Black No. 1, Love You To Death, I Don't Wanna Be Me, Christian Woman, Green Man, Nettie, Creepy Green Light.

If you like the band after listening to those songs, try their albums. Bloody Kisses, October Rust, World Coming Down, and Life Is Killing Me are the greatest.

Emotional, humorous, and heavy. You won't be sorry.

Most original, musically talented, and underrated band of the past 20 years.

122 The Sound

One of the best post punk bands. Underrated is an understatement. Best of the 80's nobody has heard. Shame, considering the others 80's crap people still listen to. They need to be heard even decades later!

This band needs it's recognition as one of the best 80's bands and be heard even if it's decades later. Be underrated No more!

One of the really great bands of the 80's most people never heard of, but should. They started before U2 and they should have be listened to just as much. So very overlooked and underrated.

Excellent Band of the 80's. Most underrated band of the 80's. R.I.P. Adrian Borland.

Brilliant band! They deserve more respect in the music industry, everyone has hear of them... yet many cannot name at least 3 of their songs!

Absolutely brilliant band. They are pretty well known, but they do not receive nearly enough credit for their wide range of styles and amazing musical proficiency and complexity.

On my list of favorite bands/artists, this is definitely at number one.
Muse is unique, versatile and expressive in style, composition, technicality and lyricism. While they are popular in England, they should have more attention from other countries as well.

They are amazing!

Slightly Underrated.

129 Frank Zappa Frank Zappa Frank Vincent Zappa was an American musician, songwriter, composer, record producer, actor and filmmaker.

Forget about "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow". Frank was one of the great musicians of the 20th century. He could have been a classical musician, but he chose rock as his genre so that people would listen to his music. He was also a great satiricist, poking fun at everyone and everything, while defending free speech against the Nancy Reagan's attempt to censure rock and roll lyrics. He demolished her.

Everyone thinks there depressive emo and suicidal but there understanding supportive punk and one of the most underrated bands ever

My Chemica Romance is really underrated. Of course not between ''emo teens'' but both in chart success and in our rock culture. They're really amazing and I can say without a doubt that they write the exceptionally deep lyrics. When people get over all the ''they're ungrateful, suicidial emos'', they could actually enjoy their amazing music. They'de my favourite rock band forever.

140 Guns N' Roses

They are often ignored in favour of other great bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin when the question comes up about who are the greatest rock band of all times. I think they are truly the best band ever and only The Who give them a close race.

I consider it one of the top bands ever. Such a shame they broke up cause otherwise, I think they could had even been consider the best. Their music was genius, each one of their songs is so well calculated to make the perfect harmony of sounds.

This is underrated rock bands, not the best rock bands! Guns N Roses are not underrated

What a joke. They are overrated, if anything.
