162 Mr.Strange
163 Simple Plan Simple Plan Simple Plan is a French-Canadian rock band from Montreal, Quebec. The band has released five studio albums.
164 The Psychedelic Furs
165 Skid Row Skid Row Skid Row is an American heavy metal band, formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. They were very successful in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with their first two albums certified multi-platinum.

Sebastian Bach has one of the best voices in history. Their songs were really touching, not only the ballads, but the rebellious ones also.

Truly they were one of the worst rock bands of all time not as bad as limpbitz though

166 The Offspring The Offspring The Offspring is an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. Formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist Greg K., lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and drummer Pete Parada.

Definitely one of the best punk bands

The best punk rock band in my opinion.I WAS LISTENING TO GREEN DAY for 2 years and at the same time I was listening to The Offspring...Now there have been 5 years since I first heard of them and I still enjoy their music.And...Dexter Holland is a man that everyone should admire for his achievements.

167 Radiohead Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Radiohead encompasses everything a band should be. They are experimental, unique and have an huge range of amazing songs that they don't get much credit for - in Rainbows, for example. This album is undoubtedly one of their best, and I could listen to it all day.

However even though this is the case, I don't think they're underrated as such. OK Computer was a MASSIVE hit album and they had quite a good career and are still going.
I'd say they're one of the best and most influential rock bands in the world but not the most underrated. I think in the 130 - 150 spot is good for them - SMU2WG

168 Nickelback Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.

If you've all jumped on board with the "Nickelback sucks" band wagon, then it's a real shame. Yes, they only had 2 hits. 2 mainstream successful hits does NOT equal only 2 good songs. No, Nickelback have many good songs. They have their own distinctive sound. They are underrated in so many ways, people I know say they hate Nickelback and when asked why, a long pause is then followed by "well I didn't like Rockstar," I mean come on, grow up. So yes, Nickelback is extremely underrated, they deserve so much more than this!

Everyone hates them. I love them. They sound the same but so what song fix what's not broken.

Corruptly underrated

"They have their own distinctive sound"
Oh yes, very distinctive, THE SAME EXACT DISTINCTIVE SOUND IN EVERY SINGLE SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PULL YOUR EARDRUMS OUT - KingofSnails42

169 Meat Loaf Meat Loaf Michael Lee Aday is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor usually known by his stage name Meat Loaf.

What a boss but I don't think he's underrated. bat out of hell has sold more than 40 million copies

170 D'erlanger

most of the bands in the top tens is internationally known but this one, even if they are legendary, only japanese people recognized the band. other people into j-rock recognizes x-japan, buck tick, l'arc en ciel, dir en grey, gazette, asian kung fu generation and they forgot this one - ronluna

only a few outside japan like me who are a fan of d'erlanger, x-japan gets all credit in terms who started visual kei movement but this one is also one of the bands who started it. ask many visual kei bands in japan and they will point d'erlanger as their idol. - ronluna

very underrated under appreciated rock band of japan because of those fangirls who are busy collecting x-japan, dir en grey, girugamesh, etc without noticing d'erlanger's major contribution to japanese rock history - ronluna

I'm the only one voting for them and writing them in the website and other japanese rock fans are busy with other popular japanese bands like dir en grey, larc en ciel (one of my favorite besides this) and so common x-japan - ronluna

171 Children of Bodom Children of Bodom Children Of Bodom is a melodic death metal band from Espoo, Finland. Formed in 1993, the group currently consists of Alexi Laiho, Janne Wirman, Henkka Seppälä, Jaska Raatikainen and Daniel Freyberg.
172 Dinosaur Jr. Dinosaur Jr. Dinosaur Jr. is an American rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, in 1984, originally simply called Dinosaur until legal issues forced a change in name.

So underrated they're not even high on the underrated list. I firmly believe Dino is up there among the greatest rock bands of all time. They invented their own unique sound and no one has done it quite as well as them since.

Half these bands are over rated. Radio head, and Megadeth for sure. Nirvana is over rated too

173 Daughtry Daughtry Daughtry is an American rock band formed and fronted by namesake Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. Their self-titled debut album was released in November 2006.
174 Badfinger Badfinger Badfinger was a British rock band that, in their most prolific lineup, consisted of Pete Ham, Mike Gibbins, Tom Evans, Joey Molland and Bob Jackson.

They were cut too short, if Peter Hamm would not have died we would have heard more of their great music.

Many, many good songs to be found on Ham era albums.

175 Kansas Kansas Kansas is an American rock band that became popular in the 1970s initially on album-oriented rock charts and later with hit singles such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind".

Tremendous catalog with a large number of songs that are much better than their long list of hits. Also, great live performers who are able to connect with their audience either in an arena or a small outdoor venue. They define underrated.

Best classic progressive rock and roll band ever. Amazing live, they don't miss! ~ If you haven't seen them, you must as a bucket list item! Songs that matter, lyrics that hit home, musical talent over the top. Someone described it best, its like 6 Beethovens on the stage at once!

176 Finger Eleven

Most Underrated & hard working band I've ever Known! Better than 200 bands on this list in terms of song writing, riffs, acoustic work everything!

Consistently have the best live performances & Vocals I have ever SEEN!

Finger Eleven Awake And Dreaming Live - a Demonstration to how this is one of the best bands in Canada & how much better they Sound Live compared to My chemical Romance & three days grace & Nickleback & Rage against the machine

177 Black Stone Cherry
178 Bad Company Bad Company

Blue, silver and gold, bad company, shooting star, Rock and roll fantasy, the sky is burning, rock steady, seagull, ready for love, feel like making love.

Only in the 400s on the list of best rock bands ever, yet they ware so good!

179 Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails is an American industrial rock/metal band and, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio.

They deserve more credit than what they've got. They make some of the best music you'll ever hear.

They're pretty underrated on TheTopTens.

They are so original, why are they this low?

180 Frank Zappa Frank Zappa Frank Vincent Zappa was an American musician, songwriter, composer, record producer, actor and filmmaker.

Forget about "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow". Frank was one of the great musicians of the 20th century. He could have been a classical musician, but he chose rock as his genre so that people would listen to his music. He was also a great satiricist, poking fun at everyone and everything, while defending free speech against the Nancy Reagan's attempt to censure rock and roll lyrics. He demolished her.

Agreed. Zappa was an iconoclastic musical genius.
