Top Ten Movie Death Scenes

The Top Ten
1 Kane (John Hurt) - Alien (1979)

It was Gross!, but that is just why it was good

2 Moe Greene (Alex Rocco) - The Godfather (1972)

Clean through the eye; best death scene in a movie and it was a part of the baptism sequence montage. After this scene, characters who are shot through the eye are referred to as having the "Moe Greene Special." Additionally, Moe Greene is my favorite character in the Godfather trilogy.

3 Sgt. Elias (Willem Dafoe) - Platoon (1986)
4 Boromir (Sean Bean) - Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

Boromir=boss. Very sad scene.

Superb acting

5 Maj. Arnold Toht (Ronald Lacey) - Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
6 Frank Pentangeli (Michael V. Gazzo) - The Godfather Part II (1974)
7 Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) - Gran Torino (2008)

Those Asian street gangs that killed Walt should all burn in hell.

This was just a sad scene

8 Connor Rooney (Daniel Craig) - Road to Perdition (2002)
9 Leon Trotsky (Geoffrey Rush) - Frida (2002)
10 Tony Montana (Al Pacino) - Scarface (1983) Antonio Raimundo "Tony" Montana is a fictional character and the villain protagonist of the 1983 film Scarface.

I almost cried when he died, still the most brutal movie ending of all time

What is the Hunger Games doing here?

I didn't See that coming

The Contenders
11 Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) - Star Wars (1977)
12 Bill Murray (As Himself) - Zombieland (2009) William James "Bill" Murray is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He first gained exposure on Saturday Night Live, for which he earned his first Emmy Award and later went on to star in comedy films, including Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes, Tootsie, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Scrooged, What About Bob?

Absolutely hilarious when Columbus realizes that he just killed Bill Murray!

He was only in it five minutes

13 The Emperor (Ian McDiarmid) - Star War Return of the Jedi (1983
14 Stanley Uris (Richard Masur) - IT (1990)

19 William Wallace (Mel Gibson) - Braveheart (1995)

The thing is, it was real!

20 Claude Frollo (Tony Jay) - The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1996)

I actually thought he was a demon rather than a man with that look in his eye!

'And he shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit! '

21 Eddie Carr (Richard Schiff) - The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
22 Kane (Orson Welles) - Citizen Kane (1941)
23 Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman) - The Hunger Games (2012) Clove Kentwell is a fictional character in the The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. She was portrayed by 19 year old Isabelle Fhurman in the film adaptation.

Getting her head smashed in with the Cornucopia was pretty mush a brutal way to go.

Arguably the brains of the Career Pack.

24 Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) - The Shining (1980) John Daniel Edward "Jack" Torrance is the main antagonist of Stephen King's horror novel The Shining.
25 Glimmer (Leven Rambin) - The Hunger Games (2012)
