These are the "baddies" from film that, when we look back at it, were just doing what they were made to do, couldn't help doing it, didn't know better, etc.

3 Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) Jason Voorhees is a character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th as the young son of camp cook-turned-murderer, Mrs. Voorhees.

Though a killer with the highest body count in the history of horror, he's not all bad. He drowned as a child and when his mother tried to take revenge by killing the counselors, she met her own demise when a surviving counselor decapitated her. His whole motivation is to avenge his mother's death. He was a good boy who loved his mother.

5 Leatherface (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Leatherface is a character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror-film series and its spin-offs. He wears masks made of human skin and engages in murder and cannibalism, alongside his inbred family.
6 HAL 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey) HAL 9000 is a fictional character in Arthur C. Clarke's Space Odyssey series. First appearing in 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL is a sentient computer that controls the systems of the Discovery One spacecraft and interacts with the ship's astronaut crew.
7 Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter) Lord Voldemort is a fictional character and the central main antagonist in J. K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter novels. Voldemort first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was released in 1997.
8 Darth Vader (Star Wars) Darth Vader is a Star Wars character and the main antagonist of the first three original Star Wars films and the main protagonist of the Star Wars prequel trilogy under his original name Anakin Skywalker. 10 Sid Phillips (Toy Story) Sid Phillips is a fictional character in the Toy Story franchise. He serves as the primary antagonist of the original Toy Story film.

Sid isn't the villain we perceived him to be. Sid was clearly neglected and wasn't all bad because:
1.) He was lonely with no friends that we know of.
2.) Had an overactive imagination.
3.) He obviously didn't have the best home life.
4.) Since he had no way of knowing that toys were sentient and can feel pain, he can't be a true villain.
While Sid was a brat, he was a product of his environment. But he does learn a lesson and changes greatly as he got older.

11 Candyman (Candyman)

He wasn't always a killer ghost. He was tortured and stung by bees to death. And he had his hand sawn off. Plus, Candyman is an insulting nickname he was given by his killers.

12 Slappy the Dummy (Goosebumps)

In Goosebumps he wanted revenge on R.L. Stine for imprisoning him in a manuscript. In Goosebumps 2 he just wanted a family. It's when he's rejected by a human family that he creates his own family by bringing the other Goosebumps monsters and all of Halloween to life.

13 Dr. Evil (Austin Powers Trilogy) Dr. Evil is a fictional character, played by Mike Myers in the Austin Powers film series. He is the antagonist of the movies, and Austin Powers' nemesis.

He was raised to be evil, but he turns good by the end of Goldmember.

14 Arnie Cunningham (Christine)

He was bullied and only had one friend. But he didn't change and turn bad and obsessed until he bought a haunted car named "Christine". The car somehow took control of him and his personality.

15 Shere Khan (The Jungle Book)

Wild animals, including tigers, get killed and their habitats destroyed by humans all the time. It's understandable that he wants a human boy dead.

Shere Kahn's got a point. Humans can be extremely dangerous.

Her son drowned as child because the other kids at Camp Crystal Lake pushed him off the dock and the counselors were having sex instead of watching the kids. She wasn't really bad. She was just a heartbroken mother who loved her son.
