Top Ten Movies Nominated for Best Picture But Didn't Win It
We all think to ourselves over the years "Oh that movie should've won Best Picture but it didn't." Well here is a list of movies that I have compiled together, who have all been nominated for Best Picture but didn't win.I my opinion Forest Gump is a great film
But not better then pulp fiction
It is hard to understand why the film didn't receive universal acclaim from the very beginning. It took a number of years before people recognized how terrific it was.
I Don't know I recon it was better then Forrest Gump, but really I can see why forrest won Fantastic!
Forest Gump was great, but Shawshank is fantastic. And fantastic beats great.
One of the best movies I have ever seen.
At the very least, the opening half an hour is one of the most intense battle scenes in cinema, and that alone deserved some recognition, especially when it lost to a bloody romantic comedy!
Considered the greatest War movie of all time, Tom Hanks leads a great cast of actors, Vin Diesel, Matt Damon, etc in this Action Drama, an inspirational story.
Lost to Shakespeare in Love
This movie is an inspirational masterpiece, but lost to a movie starring that snob Gwyneth Paltrow!
A great war movie, in my opnion the best. It doenst highlight Action and visual effects in this movie, this looks at the insight of the Vietnam War and the traumatizing effects it had on the soldiers taking part, Francis Ford Coppolla is a masterpiece at directing long and interresting movies
Lost to Kramer vs. Kramer
Fantastic film, and one of my favourites. I understand the Academy like to root for underdogs sometimes, but this wasn't the time for that.
It was extreamly well done! It should have won without question
Very artistic and so entertaining
Agree this movie should've won best picture 2001. it's far better artistic and plot than a beautiful mind.
As Good As It Gets
Good Will Hunting
LA Confidential
And the Full Monty all lost to
Titanic.
Probably the toughest year in the Oscars.
I think this movie lost because the Oscars don't usually pick comedies, but it's a real shame they didn't.
My all time favourite movie.
Robert Carlyle and his team of plucky out of work Brits attempt to put on a strip show ala The Chip 'n' Dale's in this funny Brit flick.
With unemployment on the rise this movie is even more relevant now than it was back in '97.
It was mistakenly made best picture. The actual winner was Moonlight.
Annie Hall is actually the superior movie. Most of you guys probably haven't seen it.
Annie Hall didn't deserve for an Oscar and definitely was worse than star wars
Not a very good movie. Not bad. Not great. Nicholson was great though.
The first ever animated movie to be nominated for Best Picture! HOW was this not already on here?!
The best Indiana Jones there is, The greatest Adventure there is. Stunning visual effects, just like every single other Indiana Jones and Excellent sound, this was the beginning of one of the biggest Franchises in history, this is were the repuatation started
Lost to Chariots of Fire
It is known as one of the all time greats, yet it lost to a forgotten movie by John Ford.
Great movie. When I saw it, I was expecting to respect it, but not like it as much as I did.
come on! AFI grants this the Greatest film of all time, Orson Welles directs and acts this movie brilliantly, an excellent storyline and a great cast of Classic actors
