Best Movie Adaptations of A Christmas Carol
Stays close to the book. It is special because it really explains Scrooge's character and the change.
By far, the best presentation of this classic and beloved story.
Scott plays Scrooge as a real person rather than a caricature.
Forgive me, but there is no way that this could be anything but No. 1. I don't know a single person who would watch another version over this one. Many consider it to be the greatest Christmas movie ever made. Its success was so great that Alastair Sim reprised his role as Scrooge in an Oscar-winning animated short film version. This is like ranking The Beatles lower than Nickelback on a Top Ten Bands list.
This was just incredible. Such a good, strong Christmas movie. Christmas is not the same without this.
Who else found this list when it wasn't winter? Also, I love Mickey's Christmas Carol.
This is quite a divisive adaptation. Much like Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty is often considered a poor imitation of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, many consider this film to be a poor imitation of Oliver!
Love, love, love this version! I saw it in the theater as a child. I will always have it playing as I decorate my Christmas tree.
A spiritual cousin to Oliver! which was likewise a musical adaptation of a Dickens novel.
This movie version is a tradition with me and my family to watch every year.
I love how they fleshed out the other characters more in this version. Fred looking to slide around just brings a smile to my face. It just feels like a Christmas movie.
I totally agree! Mickey's Christmas Carol is awesome.
