Top 10 Worst Movies Based on Books
Note that this is not the same as Worst Movies based on GOOD books. I remove the word Good, because there are bad books with bad movies as well
Do I really need to explain?

No. Its 2023 as I'm writing this, and it conveys a real message about climate change and deforestation, and the effects of it, all tied together with good animation, a interesting story line, AND TAYLOR SWIFT IS IN IT
Oh God do I hate this movie. This is right there with the Angry Birds Movie Possibly worse. No thought and no care put into this movie. Just pure phoned in Mess. It Just feels like excuse to promote a lot of advertising and Some REALLY HORRIBLE songs.
When I watched this movie at the end I said to myself "is it too late to get that alien invasion form Transformers dark of the moon to destroy the City of THneedville.

They might as well have DESTROYED Oprah because of this! It's a shameful parody of my favorite sci-fi disney movie, Tomorrowland, and shamefully represents it. Save your money on something that MATTERS.

While the book was funny, this was actually kinda sad to see the protagonist get bad luck like this on the big screen.

This movie follows the beloved children's book with a few differences. Or at least, that's what the first 15-20 minutes are about.

My sister and I watched this because she loved the book. I was PISSED OFF! The main protagonist, Jamie, is such a full of herself Mary-Sue, and the movie ITSELF was crappy, I'm surprised Nostalgia Critic didn't review this movie yet.
Wait? They made a movie based on that series?

Terrible movie. The actors were badly casted so the acting was woeful. The books were much better than the movie!

By this, I'm referring to the 2006 remake, not the timeless 1973 classic by Hanna-Barbera. I'm surprised E. B. White hated the original movie. I don't care what his estate has to say. Sorry, Mr. White, but you're wrong. Just because it doesn't follow the book beat by beat doesn't mean it's a bad movie.
Look at Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: That film also didn't need to follow the book beat by beat to be a good movie. Of course, we live in a world of unnecessary remakes, and this is one of them. Like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they wanna make this as faithful to the original book as possible, but like Charlie again, it fails at every aspect, especially since the 1973 film is timeless enough.
Debbie Reynolds was upset at Nickelodeon for how they ruined a beautiful 1973 classic movie! TWICE! I can't blame her! And now she's rolling in her grave. Thanks for ruining our childhoods, Nickelodeon.

I am so sick of people always defending the Tim Burton remake, just because it's more "faithful" to the Roald Dahl story! I don't care if it is! Roald Dahl is a jerk! In fact, I never forgave him after he attacked Gene Wilder for his portrayal of Willy Wonka! And I never will! I still love his other books, though.
Willy Wonka was even better than the original book, because it didn't even NEED to follow the source material beat by beat. His script was a direct clone of the original book, and I can't blame Paramount for rejecting the script. And yet, THIS comes out as even MORE successful? Critically and commercially? When are people ever gonna learn that the 1971 Mel Stuart film is a forever classic?!
STOP SUPPORTING THE Tim Burton REMAKE!

The worst of the series.
