Top 10 Best Muppet ProductionsSo there’s an R rated movie that just came out that’s directed by Jim Henson’s son. I haven’t seen it yet but it looks atrocious. But because of that movie, I figured we look back at all the great Muppet productions. Also, only productions that have the word “Muppet” in the title are allowed. No Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock.
I love this movie. I’ve always loved the Muppets ever since I was a kid, and this movie made me feel like a kid again. While still keeping the classic Muppet humor, there are still some very mature and emotional moments. I remember shedding a tear at one point. Specifically the part where we see a huge crowd outside the Muppet theatre. That part was very touching. The songs are also really great. One of them even won an Oscar. There are a few negatives I have though. There are a few moments that kind of get deep but then get ruined by a joke. Another negative I have is the very ending. During the credits. The movie ends with them losing and Kermit gives them a speech about how they can start from the bottom and rise to the top again. However, Tex Richman decides to give them back Muppet Studios. It seems like the writers were too scared to go in the direction they were originally gonna go in. I was very disappointed with that. Still, this is a very amazing movie. Definitely great ...more
The was the production that effectively breathed new life into the Muppets franchise. It's also one of the most underrated Disney movies in history, in my opinion.
Walter is so precious!
The Happytime movie is on Yesmovies now if you want to review it.
When talking about Muppets movies, this one is brought up quite a lot because of how great it is. It has a tone that’s very different from other Muppet movies. It seems to have a more serious tones. It doesn’t focus AS much on making jokes. There are still jokes in it, but they’re not used quite as much as you’d expect in a Muppets film. I thought that was a pretty nice change. There are still elements that make it feel like a Muppets film. There are songs included and there are also celebrity cameos. Even Frank Oz himself makes a physical appearance at one point. There’s also a scene involving the Muppet babies. I thought that was very cute. The ending scene is just so heartwarming to watch. I really love this movie. It’s an absolute classic.
Just so good. Definitely my favourite Muppet movie.
I’ve only seen this movie once. Not because I didn’t like it, I actually very much enjoy it, but I just haven’t had the chance to watch it a second time. This is a perfect example of a perfect movie for families. It’s almost impossible to hate the Muppets. So I don’t see any reason for anyone to hate this movie. If you like the Muppets, you’ll obviously like this movie. It’s also the movie that debuted the song Rainbow Connection. Such a lovely song. Very memorable. To this day, it’s still one of my absolute favorite Muppet songs. Again, this is a very great family film. It’s very funny and very heartfelt.
Everyone knows the Muppets Show. I haven’t seen every episode of it, but I’ve seen enough to realize how great of a show it was. A lot of hilarious acts and a lot of entertaining guest stars. It’s pretty much everything that makes the Muppets so great. Ever since Disney took ownership of the Muppets, they haven’t really done much with them. Sure they made two movies and a series that received mixed reviews, but other than that, they don’t really seem to acknowledge its existence. This is a show I think they should bring back. Wouldn’t that be great?
This is the best Treasure Island movie ever. Up until 2011, I even considered this my favorite Muppet movie. It’s such a great classic. It does a great job at taking these pirates tropes and turning them into something that’s very funny and entertaining. The writing is absolutely clever. It’s a kids movie, but it’s something that adults can enjoy as well. Even one of the characters dies and they acknowledge that it’s a kids movie. That’s some excellent 4th wall breaking. Tim Curry has stated that this was his favorite role he has ever done. And I can see why. He really looks like he’s having a lot of fun being a pirate. This movie is just very funny and entertaining. Definitely one of the best Muppets films.
This is my favourite Muppet movie, I love Treasure Island and The Muppets. - BlazingParasol
Not the best A Christmas Carol adaptation, but still an enjoyable one. The characters from the Muppets take on the roles of the characters from the original story while Michael Caine takes on the role as Scrooge. Michael Caine is actually a pretty good Scrooge. He really fits the role. Despite being a Muppets movie, it still manages to stay true to the original story while still putting their own spin on it. The casting of the characters is perfect. The writing is absolutely genius. The jokes are very hilarious. This is a really great movie to watch on Christmas.
I watch this pretty much every Christmas.
I feel like it is underrated
Muppets Most Wanted is a sequel to the 2011 Muppets film. Honestly, it was kind of a step backward. While this movie isn’t bad, the story is very weak. Kermit gets mistaken for a criminal and the criminal pretends to be Kermit. We’ve seen this kind of plot many times. The movie doesn’t really do anything original with it. However, there are still some really funny jokes. The joke I laughed the hardest at was the Usher joke. I also really enjoyed Ty Burrell’s performance. Ty Burrell and Sam Eagle are such an excellent duo. I just wish some of the writing had been better. Somehow, the other Muppets weren’t able to figure out that Constantine wasn’t really Kermit. That just seems very messed up. Coincidentally, Constantine’s voice actor later went on to replace Kermit’s voice actor.
I obviously needed to include this because Muppet Vision 3D is an absolute masterpiece. I enjoyed this every time I watched it. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a 4D attraction at the Disney Parks. It’s also the last Muppets production Jim Henson worked on before his passing. It has the classic Muppets humor that we are all used to seeing. There’s a bunch of great 3D effects and hilarious slapstick. This could’ve easily been just something that they show on a screen and that would be it, but there are also things that happen outside of the screen. In theater, they have an animatronic Statler and Waldorf who watch the show and make commentary throughout the thing. There are also animatronic penguins that perform the music. There’s even an animatronic Bean Bunny that makes an appearance. But my favorite thing would have to be the fully costumed Sweetums that comes out. It’s like we’re actually in a room with Muppets. It’s just so great. It makes me really angry that ...more
A lot of people don't really know about this. Basically, it's a television special in which Kermit and his friends sneak into Disney World. Since I love the Muppets and since I love Disney World, this is a perfect combination. I really enjoy seeing the characters doing all these fun activities in the parks. While I've only been to WDW three times, I still know quite a lot about it and I'm able to recognize what certain things are. Also, being a major Disney Parks fan, there are some inconsistencies that bother me. The characters all start at MGM Studios and they don't have tickets so they just break in, which isn't easy to do by the way. The thing that bothers me about this is that throughout the special, the characters are seen going to the other parks as well. It's unlikely they would be able to sneak in more than once. Also, the Indiana Jones Stunt Show doesn't have random guests who aren't professional stuntmen be in the show as the main characters. Also, Mickey Mouse makes an ...more
I remember watching this a few times as a kid. It’s... okay. I guess. It’s not bad, but kinda weak compared to other Muppet productions. It was directed by Tim Hill who later went on to direct terrible films like Garfield 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Hop. So that probably explains why this movie isn’t very great. One of my biggest issues is that the jokes aren’t very funny. One of the thing that the Muppets are known for is their hilarious humor. While I did chuckle a few times, most of the jokes just fell flat. I also thought the movie focused a little too much on Gonzo. I like Gonzo, but he’s not the kind of character that should be the main focus. There’s also nothing very memorable that happens. Muppets From Space is just an overall forgettable movie. It’s not particularly bad, but I expected more from a Muppets film.
