Top 10 Music Albums that Were Re-Recorded

Re-recorded versions are when the band members play the songs again in the studio, sometimes it's even with different band members. Sometimes the bands change the original title of the album.

Remixed and Remastered album versions don't count - this is done by sound engineers and the band members don't play again.

2 Oxygene - Jean-Michel Jarre

In 2007 he fully re-recorded his classic album "Oxygene" (1976). If I correctly remember, he recorded the original album in his kitchen.

3 Onset of Putrefaction - Necrophagist

Originally it was recorded almost solely by Muhammed SuiƧmez in 1999 and he used drum machine. The new version of the album (2004) features drummer Hannes Grossmann.

I find this rerecord better than the original album, its heavier and more brutal than the original album.

The band had difficulties in obtaining the master tapes of the 1988 original and because of that in 2014 they decided to re-record the album.
