It's currently formed by Tuomas, Emppu, lead vocalist Floor Jansen, bassist and vocalist Marco Hietala, multiinstrumentist and vocalist Troy Donockley, and drummer Jukka Nevalainen (currently on hiatus and replaced by Kai Hahto).

I wonder whether a large part of it is due to the best known critical publications being from the English speaking world especially the United States.

Strange for me to admit but I actually really like Rammstein.

3 Blind Guardian Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in the mid-1980s in West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Heavily influenced by Queen, they use the technique of overdubbing. They also incorporate large amounts of orchestral arrangements. Hansi Kürsch creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping harmonies. Thanks to overdubs and numerous backing vocals Blind Guardian stand out with a very dense sound.

The other day saw them at #323 or something but most of their albums have been rated 9.5/10 or 9.8/10 by reviewers.

Rather surprising this one pretty much everyone would have heard of Drake and it seems odd that he would get great reviews but not be taken seriously by music fans.

I would not really say great reviews his highest rated album on Metacritic has 79% which is good but considering how many artists have multiple albums with over 80 it I would not say great.

His recent album got negative review.

Edit: mixed review but still his worst
