1 Tenacious D
Tenacious D is an American comedy rock duo that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1994. Composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jack Black and lead guitarist and vocalist Kyle Gass, the band has released three albums – Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny and Rize of the Fenix. Pretty obvious, and not surprising considering how they're a comedic band. The lyrics produced though, can be somewhat humorous.

Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.
The band was comprised of Kurt Cobain (Vocals, Guitar), Dave Grohl (Drums) and Krist Novoselic (Bass). ...read more. Kurt Cobain, even said himself that the lyrics are "gibberish", so I think that justifies them having a spot.
4 Weezer
Weezer is an American alternative rock/power pop band formed in Los Angeles in 1992, currently consisting of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner. Lyrics never were their strong suite, but again that's kind of the point to their music they focus more on the melodies their music has than what lyrics they can come up with.

Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. It can be but sometimes brutal lyrics are thrown in their way
Definitely somewhat, top 10 worthy if you ask me.

7 Smash Mouth
Smash Mouth is an American rock band from San Jose, California. The band was formed in 1994, and was originally composed of Steve Harwell, Kevin Coleman, Greg Camp, and Paul De Lisle. Their first big hit was Walkin' On the Sun in 1997, they would then get more exposure in 1999 for the song All Star which would be featured in the movie Shrek in 2001. Their style is a mix of ska punk, with a hint of psychedelic music from time to time. They released seven albums with Steve Harwell. In 2021 Harwell retired from the band due to health issues and was replaced with Zach Goode. Steve Harwell passed away on September 4th, 2023 due to liver failure. Kind of debating, if they should be on the list. But eh, I needed ten items so...

Which kind of, explains why I really don't like her music.

Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band was formed in 1985 under the name of "Majesty", only to change its name to Dream Theater later.
The members of the band’s original lineup consisted of John Petrucci (Guitar), John Myung (Bass) and Mike Portnoy (Drums). The band had multiple keyboardists and singers, but as of and since 1991, the band's lead vocalist has been James LaBrie.
The band released their debut album "When Day and Dream Unite" in 1989, but only gained success and notoriety after the release of their second album, "Images and Words" in 1992. ...read more. Don't get me wrong their lyrics are good, but come on. Who listens to Dream Theater for the lyrics?

Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar). Haven't heard a lot of their music, but it seems more melody driven than lyric driven.

Before the current group was established, the original four members, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick, formed a band known as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school. If they sound like this concentrating on the melodies, I wonder what they melodies would be like if they focused on the lyrics.
A bit obvious, but their lyrics have always been kind of weak.

The original lineup was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar, vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. This one's low, because it's sort of true, but sort of isn't at the same time.
