I listened to Beethoven when I was 4...I loved listening to his music. He was my favorite composer at the time and I'd talk about him constantly.

Introduce real music to young children before their ears are assaulted by modern music, some of which is absolute trash!

He's maybe a better introduction to classical music than Beethoven. I remember when I first heard one of my favorite classical pieces, New World Symphony as a ~7 year old, I was unable to enjoy it.

I disagree. Maybe some relaxing instrumentals like Cluster One, Signs of Life would be good, but would a 4-year old enjoy The Great Gig in The Sky or understand the meaning behind Welcome to the Machine's lyrics (or anything on the Wish You Were Here album)?

There is more Pink Floyd than Another Brick in the Wall.

For a four years boy/girl, I usually recommend folk-rock and acoustic music.
