Best Music Artists for a Pop Hall of FameConsidering that there is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I felt as if a similar vein could be applied to Pop Music.
This is a list about not just the best Pop Music has to offer, but its also about the influence and legacy that these artists have presented. Hence, a "Hall of Fame".
I mean, his title is "King of Pop". It is to be expected. In all fairness, Michael has remained one of Pop Music's most seminal and influential music artists, in spite of his many controversies.
The biggest solo pop star in history, he would be the first and only one inducted first year so the enitre show can be dedicated to his greatness.
Well, he's the "King of Pop"! And of course the royalties are in here.
He is the singer of all centuries!
She is "The Voice". She was the first true black female global superstar and one of the original pop divas who set the lane for woman to break in easier in American popular music.
Like MJ, she has her own moniker; "The Queen of Pop" and its easy to see why she deserves it. She has one of the most powerful voices out of any female music artists I can think of.
Isn't Madonna the Queen of Pop and not Whitney?
One of the greatest voices in pop ever. R.I.P.
Back when she was in her peaks during the 80s-90s, Madonna was easily one music artist to be renowned. Although her reputation in the present isn't as good, you can't really deny her energy back then and the influence she has on Pop Music these days.
She just turned 60, has been inducted in numerous halls of fame and is the biggest female artist in history, she's and obvious choice.
I am pretty sure she’s considered the queen of pop as opposed to Whitney.
She isn't the best singer in the world.. Yet her voice has the most variety.
She isn't the prettiest pop star.. yet when she is performing she can be the most beautiful.
She isn't the best dancer technically yet artistically no one matches her.
What she is the best at is her vision, her creativity, her work ethic and her determination. She is also an opportunist and a media whore.
it shows Discipline is everything as is courage. She took the musical performance to a whole new level. She made the most of what she had and did so in a brilliant fashion. I sometimes wonder how much of her image and career was her. Can anyone person be so brilliant and talented yet say some of the dumb things she says? No matter what she the one and only Madonna and is the top of her peers and I do not believe any one will have made such a contrast in music if you could look at a before and after photo.
Here is What I don't like about her and that is her selfishness and lack of empathy ...more
One of the most renowned Pop bands of all time. They defined 70s Pop and are still seen as a big influence in the Pop scene, even after 40 years.
Prince and MJ were formidable rivals. Despite MJ's superior stage persona and singing, Prince is no slouch either and excels in instrumentals for an alternative. One of Pop's greatest instrumentalists.
I think Prince had better singing skills and a better voice than Michael Jackson but Michael was more entertaining because of his dancing.
He is one of the most influential acts in various genres including pop music so he should be held in high consideration.
prince is amazing so yes hall of fame
Elvis is normally referred to as the "King of Rock N' Roll", but no doubt he was a massive figure in Pop as well.
Hard to say; he only had a handful of albums that could really be construed as pop (Young Americans, Let's Dance, Tonight, and maybe Hunky Dory or Ziggy Stardust). His "best" work (Station to Station, Low, "Heroes", Lodger, Scary Monsters, ★, etc.) certainly wasn't. I guess he did drive a number of pop music trends, which probably justifies his inclusion.
Undeniably talented. His experimentation and versatility is remarkable and whilst he is a rock artist he is also a pop artist as well, which is awesome. His influence has gone on for several years and he is one of the best singers ever in my opinion. R.i.p. David Bowie(Day of his death was in 2016)
His experimentation and versatility is remarkable. While also a Rock Artist, he has done some Pop work. Either way, he's proven his worth for years and his influence will go on for several years.
No question about it. He was the most diverse pop musician in history, and to ignore him for such a nomination would be a shame.
Alongside Whitney and Mariah Carey, them and Celine make up for one of music's most renowned Group of influential artists. That, and she has a very powerful voice, one of the best out of any music artist in general.
Her voice is the driving factor to some of the 90s biggest pop ballads which are in turn some of the most iconic love songs in modern history so she is definitely on this lost with reason.
He has been active for as long as acts like Mariah Carey and Eminem have been alive and served immense longevity so he should be here.
He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1992.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
I love george Michael I would have loved to have been his wife I think he would have made a wonderful husband.
Maybe like third class.
Fourth class. There are mnay pop acts who must be in before she is even considered.
Yes! Amazing, incredible voice.
Christina Aguilera rocks
The most mainstream gothic group to ever exist (yes, they're goth, just look at their lyrics).
Amazing artists! Their last songs like Heaven or Scum are incredible.
I dig them, there are interesting things in their songs. Dark pop.
They are very good.
Should be much higher, such influence in LGBT culture and music.
THE HALL OF FAME WAS MADE FOR CHER
I like her but really an artist who has one well known album is not exactly hall of fame material.
Her voice is truly haunting. If the lyrics don't stick with you, her voice will.
One of Pop's most prolific and renowned experimental artists.
I recently begun listening to her and I’m intrigued. A unique voice and some really bizarre music.
Who added this in this list? like oh my jedi god I forgot about the carpenters I planned earlier of buying a CD of them but whoever added this THANK YOU an orb of enlightenment and I just remembered- Kevinsidis
It's a damn shame that Karen Carpenter died of anorexia R.I.P- Kevinsidis
Why is she higher? Deserves it more than half the people on this list.
I like her song touch my body the video for it is so funny
She follows her aesthetic and I love that!
I don't really think I would consider it a real music artist.
I think she is great but honestly I am not sure she has been around long enough.
