Top Ten Music Artists That Have Helped People

I'll admit I have a very narrow music taste, but as far as artists that have truly helped their fans get through hard times… here's what I've seen or heard from people. No need for anyone to bash on the genres here - talk about the artists themselves, and how they've been a part of your life. So no negativity please!
The Top Ten

He helped people by making Neverland Ramch and bringing little kids over and have some happy fun! *sarcasm*

His music is a real escape. His lyrics and messages are pure and genuine.

2 My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance is an American rock band from Jersey City, New Jersey, active from 2001 to 2013, and again from 2019 to present day. For much of their career, the band consisted of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, bassist Mikey Way, and drummer Bob Bryar.

My Chemical Romance was one of the most important bands of our generation. It's astonishing how a song can change someone's view of the world. How they can make a suicidal person re-think and help people through tough times. The thing that I love about My Chemical Romance is the fact that they understand things that no other adults that I know understand. Their song "Teenagers", for example. It's about most adults view of us, like we're some kind of animals, and then Gerard singing about how they're wrong and that he understands us. Every single song has a great concept, but because they're super intelligent and talented, sometimes you have to dig deep to find out the purpose of the song. Gerard's voice has so much emotion in it, I have never heard anything like it. They're just completely amazing, both on and off-stage.

The MCRmy is like a family, making a statement. It's all about empowerment, anti-suicide, and facing your fears. Any My Chemical Romance fan can easily explain what songs like "Famous Last Words" did for them. In many cases, My Chem's songs have saved lives. It's astonishing what the lyrics this band made did for people. My Chemical Romance fans - remember when people always said Gerard promoted suicide? Remember pulling out your iPod, and playing "Famous Last Words" for those detractors? Seeing the looks on their faces when they heard the chorus. Anybody who's really gotten into My Chemical Romance will understand this. Even just going to their shows was a wonderful, empowering experience.

3 Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem has sold over 300 million records making him the bestselling hip-hop artist of all time. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5'9") half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil. Rolling Stone ranked him 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the King of Hip Hop. Including his work with D12 and Bad Meets Evil, Eminem has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and 5 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and 13 worldwide.

Marshall knows how life can be tough, and his lyrics reflect that. Don't you dare censor this man. He speaks the flat-out truth, whether you want to accept it or not. One of the most emotional and passionate music artists ever, especially in a genre that seems to lack those qualities these days.

He may have cussed and sweared a lot but his lyrics have inspired me not to give up and carry on with my life

He is a cool rapper!

I, personally, have never listened to her, but she's getting a lot of attention lately. Most of it very positive. I know someone's going to put this on the list if I don't, so I'll put her here so she's in a higher spot, in the Top 10. Her fans can comment their own stuff here. I don't know much about her, but her popularity definitely earns her a spot here.

Not only performed at the David Foster Foundation's charity event to support Canadian children needing organ transplants, she sponsored a family with a sick child herself, paying for all of their needs so that they could live near the hospital where the operation took place.

Does numerous charity concert events, including those that benefit crippled children, kids awaiting organ transplants, deaf children, seals, anti-bullying, animal shelters, music education in schools, and she is very popular at Muhammad Ali's "Celebrity Fight Night" that benefits MLS.

When burglars stole all the presents from her local Christmas charity in Pittsburgh, at the last minute Jackie Evancho purchased replacement gifts so that no child went without.

I'm personally not a fan, but it takes a lot of loyalty to your fans to get a fan base as devoted as the Directioners. These people will defend 1D with a passion, and there's a good reason why.

P.S. to SS fans: Don't get so worked up. Not all Directioners insulted Mitch, it was just a few stupid ones. I'm an SS fan myself, so understand what I'm saying please.

The Contenders
11 Suicide Silence Suicide Silence is an American deathcore band from Riverside, California. Formed in 2002, the band has released four full-length studio albums, one EP and eleven music videos.

This band took a big turn for the better when "You Only Live Once" got out. You don't need to know the whole band's catalogue, but you can say Suicide Silence helped you with just that one song. Believe it or not, "No Pity For A Coward" kinda works, too. Maybe scaring people out of suicide. It's brutal honesty. And the SS fanbase has endured through one of the biggest tragedies in modern music. They didn't turn their backs on a struggling band without Mitch. They supported the progression of Suicide Silence, welcomed a new singer, and in return got an amazing album. I would place this higher on the list…but a lot of these other artists have bigger fanbases, sadly…

She has endorsed Adidas, MAC Cosmetics and Pepsi. Minaj has received ten Grammy-nominations throughout her career, and has won multiple awards including the Billboard's Women in Music 2011 Rising Star award.

Gives money to the poor so they can live a better life.

19 Blind Guardian Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in the mid-1980s in West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Heavily influenced by Queen, they use the technique of overdubbing. They also incorporate large amounts of orchestral arrangements. Hansi Kürsch creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping harmonies. Thanks to overdubs and numerous backing vocals Blind Guardian stand out with a very dense sound.

Their music and lyrics take me to another place (ex.- The Bard's Song). Blind Guardian are a great German metal band.
