Some music artists are prolific - this doesn't always mean quality but some of the albums released in one year were incredible.
I admit it was difficult to find a balance between quality and quantity of the albums by the respective artists.

I put them at #1 because they released 3 classic LPs consisting of 26 songs, 22 of which written by John Fogerty.

From 1963 to 1965, the Beatles released two albums each year, and though there's an argument to be made for each Beatles album being a classic in its own right, the band released two unimpeachable classics in 1967: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in June, and the weirdest Beatles album of all, the Magical Mystery Tour movie soundtrack, just five months later. - Metal_Treasure

Whats intresting is both of these albums have a different lineup, American Psycho has Michael Graves and Static Age has Glenn Danzig cause the songs were recorded when he was still in the band, Static Age is the best Misfits album and American Psycho is one of their better ones. - christangrant

Like Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Brian Jonestown Massacre somehow managed to release 3 albums in a single year, but BJM outdid CCR in two ways.
1) all three of BJM's 1996 albums are over an hour long, while CCR's didn't break 40 minutes.
2) while CCR released its first 1969 album in January, BJM didn't release its first 1996 album until May, which means that in just 5 months, the BJM released 3 albums with 49 tracks in 3 and a half hours. - Metal_Treasure
