It's a big part of their music. It fits very well with their psychedelic and progressive music.
Their use of sound effects was incredible. They really do add some flavor to the song.

Peart passed away after a 3 year battle with brain cancer in January of 2020. Because of this, Lee says there are no plans to keep the band going, so Rush is most likely defunct.
