Top Ten Music Artists We Would Have Liked to Hear Perform a James Bond Theme

This list is devoted to artists who didn't and are unlikely to. So no new musicians--there's already a list for them.

The Top Ten

1 Queen Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in 1970. Members were Freddie Mercury (Vocals and Piano), Brian May (Guitar, Vocals), Roger Taylor (Drums, Vocals), and John Deacon (Bass Guitar, Vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury more.

Can't you just imagine Queen doing a Bond theme in their heyday? It could be stylistically similar to "Live and Let Die"--a rocker powered by Freddie's voice and piano. Think "Don't Stop Me Now" or "Under Pressure." - PetSounds

I couldn't agree more with this #1 item (it doesn't happen very often to me). - Metal_Treasure

This Would Be Very Theatrical - BeatlesFan1964

2 David Bowie David Bowie David Robert Jones was an English singer born in London on January 8, 1947, the son of a fundraiser and a waitress. He died in New York on January 10, 2016 at the age of 69, a hero to millions. more.

Speaking of "Under Pressure," Bowie could have provided an awesome glam rocker in Roger Moore's early days, a quirky experimental piece in the Pierce Brosnan era, or even a cheesy pop tune in the '80s. I guess it's technically still possible, albeit unlikely.

The theme for Quantum of Solace was a collaboration, so why not imagine him teaming up with Queen? - PetSounds

Great list, PetSounds!
David Bowie would be amazing! He'd be perfect! - Britgirl

3 Amy Winehouse Amy Winehouse Amy Jade Winehouse was an English singer and songwriter known for her deep expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, and jazz. She is also a well-known member of the 27 Club, as she overdosed on alcohol at age 27.

She would have fit the mould perfectly if she'd lived long enough. - PetSounds

Hey how did I miss her? Obviously, she'd be an excellent choice. Let's bring her back... - Britgirl

She Would Have Kicked Ass - BeatlesFan1964

4 The Smiths The Smiths The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce.

Morrissey doing a Bond theme is about as likely as Paul McCartney doing a Bond theme. Oh, wait... - PetSounds

This would actually work well. Morrissey has that kind of commanding voice. - IronSabbathPriest

5 Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band formed in July 1967, in London. The band have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time.

Who wouldn't love "The Chain" as a Bond theme? - PetSounds

6 The Doors The Doors The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore.

The timing is all wrong. Their music wouldn't have suited any of the Connery/Lazenby movies, and Jim Morrison didn't live long enough for any others. Assuming time travel is possible, I think they'd be perfect for Dalton or Craig. Although I can't imagine them working well with the musical director. - PetSounds

Jim could have had a cameo role in the film, probably a fight scene.

Indeed, the thought of Jim co-operating with a antsy Musical Director is kind of funny.

7 Eurythmics Eurythmics Eurythmics were a British music duo consisting of members Annie Lennox and David A. Stewart. Stewart and Lennox were both previously in the band The Tourists, who split up in 1980; Eurythmics were formed that year in London.
8 Kraftwerk Kraftwerk Kraftwerk is a German electronic music band formed by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider in 1970 in Düsseldorf. The band was fronted by both Hütter and Schneider until Schneider's departure in 2008.
9 Iggy Pop Iggy Pop James Newell Osterberg, Jr., known professionally as Iggy Pop, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actor.

This would be... different. But I think it would be cool, too. - PetSounds

10 Jackie Evancho Jackie Evancho Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho is an American classical crossover singer who gained wide recognition at an early age and, since 2009, has issued an EP and five albums, including a platinum and gold album and three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts .

She reportedly already has the inside track to sing the theme to the film version of Game of Thrones, her ethereal, otherworldly voice would definitely lend itself to a Bond film depending on the script.

Done. She covered Sam Smith's "Writings on the Wall" from the Bond film "Spectre".

The Contenders

11 Dio Dio Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio, after he left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath member, drummer Vinny Appice.

Dio had a powerful and flawless voice suitable for epic OST.
Think Holy Diver, Don't Talk To Strangers, Rainbow In The Dark.
Holy diver even has a creepy intro.
Also Evil Eyes - a song to pair with the racing scenes. James Bond had Golden Eyes, so why not a song like Evil Eyes, too? - Metal_Treasure
