41 Ylvis

His song "What does the fox say" is a parody and was made for fun, but the way fans treat it as a real song? That's what might ruin the music industry

First of all, Ylvis is not one person, but two Norwegian brothers.
Secondly, they're comedians/T.V. hosts. Their music is meant to be of comedic value and nothing else. The Fox was made to promote their talkshow! Adding them to this list is pointless.

I admit, pop music is not my favorite, and sure Coldplay and the Black Keys are good but Sam Smith is also good. Saying if he wouldn't have became famous doesn't necessarily mean that the Black Keys and Coldplay would have anymore recognition. - music-is-life

He has taken many people's eyes off of great bans like Coldplay and the Black Keys who deserve more recognition than him. Without him, they would have gotten more attention, but since they didn't, we are even closer to the end of good music. - Songsta41

I hear you, but he's not the one who's mostly responsible. Sam Smith simply follows the mainstream crowd that is dictated by the longer-standing pop morons. - PositronWildhawk
