It's hard to judge if they really sold out or just became more mature.
In the beginning, their songs were mostly rock oriented, a bit sloppy, with simplistic melodies and lyrics that did not focus on sounding overwhelmingly beautiful but rather wanted to get their point across.
Then over the years their music became a whole lot slower, softer and most of the lyrics became more poetic, using more metaphors. Their newer style is definitely a lot more radio friendly, but also I'm sure it takes a lot more skill writing their more recent material. And also we shouldn't forget their debut album was released in 2004, so yeah, maybe their personal taste and ambition changed. Also their appearance is much less punk-ish recently. But many people claim they have sold out, and one thing for sure: their new style is definitely more commercial, whether intentional or not. But that doesn't mean they are not still good. - Martin_Canine

I don't think anyone can sell out two nights of Wembley and a huge ultra mega concert with a combined total of people of around 107,000 people in all the concerts. With more people still wanting to go.

They sold out with Bicycle Race and Fat Bottomed Girls
