Top Ten Music Artists You Can't Criticize Without Being Attacked

According to the logic of this website, hating these is the ultimate sin, when it truly isn't.

The Top Ten
1 The Beatles The Beatles were an English pop rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. ...read more.

I see it just the opposite, Beatle haters go on the attack all the time, and seem surprised at having their opinions challenged even sometimes. Lots of Beatle-love at TTT, but the majority of Beatle-hate is just left alone. Truthfully, why would anyone care if you like them, or some other band, or none of the above?

Thank you, Swellow! I like the Beatles, always have BUT they are overrated. They are! And whenever I voice this opinion, I have to watch my back from the attack of the Giant Killer Beatles Fans.

As songwriters ( Lyrics and melodies ) they were unique and therefor they can not be overrated. As musicians on the other hand they are pretty overrated. None of them were exeptional instrument players.

Here at top tens there are way more attacks on the beatles and attacks on beatle fans than there ever are attacks on the haters in return

2 Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in London in 1970. The original lineup was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar, vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury was a fan of Smile and encouraged them to experiment with more elaborate stage and recording techniques. He then joined the band in 1970, suggested "Queen" as a new band name, and adopted his familiar stage name. John Deacon was also recruited to complete the line-up. ...read more.

I'm a big fan of Queen's music but they have some fans who are delusional and fanatical, especially about Freddie. He's a good singer but he's not the best ever. Besides, you don't need the best voice ever to be a rock star.

People who like medicore mid-level bands get all butthurt at the praise Freddie and Queen get here. They assume if something is too popular, it is no longer cool, and they can't be associated with the plebes who like such common fare.

Over loved by teenage boys who are pumped up on their first surge of testosterone, and suddenly imagine that they are incredibly wise and important.

Yes of course, criticizing for good reasons is always fine. We should ask, what exactly are good reasons, and who gets to decide if they are good.

3 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock. Page states it was Keith Moon of The Who that claimed the band could only go down, like a lead balloon -- thus prompting the iconic name of Led Zeppelin. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors ...read more.

If LZ is over-rated, then every band is over-rated. They are in the top five music acts of all time, with a legitimate claim to the top spot overall. Nothing is perfect, but they are great, and even though many people do not like them just means that even more people do not like other music acts.

I get attacked on a daily basis just for thinking they're trash. Honestly what happened to opinions?

This zep fan admits that Led Zeppelin done many bad things. And they are overrated(little bit of )

4 Melanie Martinez Melanie Adele Martinez is an American singer and songwriter. Melanie Martinez auditioned for the American television vocal talent show The Voice and became a member of Team Adam.

Ok honestly I LOVE Melanie Martinez and twenty one pilots. But you gotta admit out of most modern singers/bands like Taylor swift,Justin Bieber, one direction etc THEY ARE AMAZING! Ok I get the people on this website don't like either TØP or mel but seriously have more of an open mind! Now I'm not saying I hate classic legendary bands like green day, nirvana, the Beatles etc cause I love them. But they are some of the only good artists out there today. Sorry for ranting. It's just the truth.

True, if you criticize Melanie Martinez near me you will die a very slow, painful death. #Crybabies4Ever! If you are a die-hard fan of her, like me!, you are automatically my new BFF!

I don't know. Although the fans are like any other fans from any other fandoms and will attack you for the hate, she actually is good.

Go to any Melanie Martinez video and do so. Better yet look at the comment section and Spectrum pulse's review

I don't get what's special about this band. THey kinda suck. I also don't like the fanbase because every time someone adds Linkin Park to a WORST list they always say mean things like " WHOEVE ADED LP HAVE NO SOUL. SCREW DEM! "

Just wanna ask the fans: Look, I know you like Linkin Park but there are some people who don't really enjoy them like me. Please respect our opinions. I'm sure we aren't bad people.

I don't understand why so much people get obsessed with Linkin Park. To me, I got bored of their music overtime now.

Linkin Park is a good band. They're one of my favorite music artists but their fanbase literally worships them, like really? They're great and all but they're not gods.-DarkBoi-X

7 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

The band was comprised of Kurt Cobain (Vocals, Guitar), Dave Grohl (Drums) and Krist Novoselic (Bass). ...read more.

Similar issue to Queen. Since Nirvana is very popular with casual fans, those fans who believe themselves to have superior and more serious musical taste decide that they can't be associated with anything that is so popular.

I swear people react to you criticizing Nirvana like you just pissed on Kurt's grave. At least The Beatles, Zep and Queen were good.

I like Nirvana, but all those damn Tumblr kids treat Cobain like he's the messiah.

Well said Swellow, lots of people like Smells Like Teen Spirit because it is on the best song lists

TOP is a band I think are really good, however I can understand if other people don't. Ride is a little loud and leans to far in to reggae. However if you jump into tracks like Pet Cheetah, Not Today, and Ode To Sleep, you see why so many people jump to defend them. They are truly trying and that's more than I can say for other pop stars. They understand how music should be done, and how to pull off doing different kinds of music.

They are very generic sounding, their songs revolve around the same themes, and it's been said before, genre bending has been done before. Zappa, Gorillaz, Green Day, heck, Pink Floyd mixed in prog and psychedelic along with some (very little) pop. They're not unique. Not even the slightest. Just a Chili Peppers knockoff.

In my opinion they really suck... hear me out on this one. For one, most of their songs consist of what's basically 3 chords. Secondly, their 'relatable' lyrics are as cringe-worthy as they are pathetic. Lastly, their lead singer can't even sing! (Not to mention most of their fan base is absolutely terrible)

I'd rather not say anything, I've said plenty already. Looking at these replies it's quite ironic and definitive what list this is on.

He tells stories like nobody else, he's even better than 2Pac! You're wrong for not liking him! "
Me: "I think J Cole is better."
Random person: "How can you think J Cole is better than King Kenny! You're stupid and basic for listening to J Cole when Kendrick is the greatest of the current times! "

He's overrated by people that don't even listen to rap music. He does not represent casual rap. He is part of pop rap, just like Taylor Swift is part of pop country. In my opinion, a person should not say that someone is the best of a certain genre if they don't care about any other part of that genre.

I became a big Eminem fan when I heard "Godzilla", and have listened to so much of his music in 2020. But then I found "Children's Story", and heard songs like "C.R.E.A.M." and "Regulate" after that. I was becoming used to old school quickly, which I made my own playlist the following year in April. To me, I think Tupac, Big L, Biggie, Nas and Kendrick are better than Eminem.

I just feel used to the Eminem before Encore and when he also became a pop artist. And I am not used to the singing he does sometimes.

This is what I know from a few of his diss tracks: He is VERY AGGRESSIVE when it comes to dissing that it's impossible to beat him in a battle so it's best to give him respect because if you do something bad you're screwed

22 Silento Richard Lamar Hawk, better known by his stage name Silentó, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. He is best known for his debut single "Watch Me", which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. Recently, he is also known for murdering his cousin and is currently in prison.

He's a diet-Soulja Boi. I only defend him once and that was because he only had 1 song. Watch Me Fail. But now he has another song so I'm not gonna defend him at all. As a negative-star artist he is talentless and I would never want to hear him in a concert. EVER. -1/10

23 Michael Jackson Michael Jackson (Michael Joseph Jackson; August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer, dancer, and songwriter. I'm probably one of the few people who WON'T attack you if you don't like him.

Back when he was alive, he was CONSTANTLY criticized, & attacked!

What a not-so-bad, very good music artist. He is now the King of Pop!

Overrated. Not bad, but overrated.

24 deadmau5 Joel Thomas Zimmerman (a.k.a. deadmau5) is a Canadian DJ producer, formerly a web developer, who produces a wide variety of electronic musical genres, such as electro and dubstep, but is best known for popularizing work in the areas of progressive house and electrohouse, along with the genres themselves. Notable songs include Ghosts n' Stuff, I Remember, Raise Your Weapon, Strobe and Professional Griefers.

I personally think Deadmau5 is a bit overrated cause he gets too much recognition. But that doesn't mean he's bad. He's quite fun. 9/10

So overrated. I can name 10 different electronic artists far better than him

I always beat this guy up in Goat Simulator.

He's not even in the top 5 for electronic music artists. Consistently average compared to artists of the same genre, yet he gets the most attention.

But in the end, he's not bad.
