1 The Beatles - Pop The Beatles were an English pop rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. 2 Deep Purple - Metal Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968. They are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies". 3 Chuck Berry - Rock N' Roll Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. He died on 18 March 2017.
4 Kurtis Blow - Rap Kurt Walker, professionally known by his stage name Kurtis Blow, is an American rapper and record producer.
5 Black Sabbath - Metal Black Sabbath were a Heavy Metal band formed in Birmingham, England in 1968 by guitarist and songwriter Tony Iommi, singer John "Ozzy" Osbourne, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

The band became mainstream after improving after their debut album got panned. In 1978, Osbourne was fired and replaced with former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Who went to release 2 albums before leaving in 1983, only for Osbourne to return in 1992. ...read more.

They invented heavy metal in general, and not just doom metal. The person below me doesn't know a thing about heavy metal. His favourite band is Slipknot, which pretty much elucidates what I'm trying to convey.

6 Little Richard - R&B Richard Wayne Penniman, known by his stage name, Little Richard, was an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is widely regarded to be one of the most influential rock musicians of all time.

Might be controversial to have Elvis so low but this is due to him being a later artist of Rock N' Roll. As important as he was he wasn't one of the first.

9 DJ Tiesto - EDM Tijs Michiel Verwest, better known by his stage name Tiësto, is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Breda. He was named "the Greatest DJ of All Time" by Mix magazine in a poll voted by fans. In 2013, he was voted by DJ Magazine readers as the "best DJ of the last 20 years".
10 Robert Johnson - Blues Robert Leroy Johnson was an American blues singer-songwriter and musician. His landmark recordings in 1936 and 1937 display a combination of singing, guitar skills, and songwriting talent that has influenced later generations of musicians. Johnson died in 1938 at the age of 27. The exact circumstances of his death are still unclear today. His death makes him one of the earliest members of the so-called "Club 27".

Not a huge or influential name but if you like Rap I suggest listening to his hit "Here Comes the Judge" from 1968. The song is one of the first Rap sounding records but was made before Rap was officially a thing.
