Top Ten Music Genres That Deserve More Attention

The Top Ten

1 Progressive Rock Progressive Rock

Holy S$! T I LOVE prog rock. With such FANTASTIC bands such as Pink Floyd, Rush ( one of my favorite bands ever! ) and many more, I can't really say much about it ( you have to listen yourselves, it's that good! ) Also, Dream Theater isn't prog rock, but in fact PROGRESSIVE METAL. So yea, they're not really the same thing. - MusicalPony

2 Country

For those who know me well, you might be asking " Isn't Country your least favorite genre? ". True, but I'm talking about "Bro-Country". REAL country music, such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, should be played on the radio. Not that "bro-country" crap. - MusicalPony

3 Ambient

Most people haven't heard of this one actually. - MusicalPony

5 Progressive Metal

Don't complain that Prog Metal and Prog Rock are the same thing. Prog metal is a METAL sub genre, not a rock genre. Just saying. - MusicalPony

6 Electronic

The truth is, not everyone sees the innovation and thought-provoking meanings that go into quite a lot of it. - PositronWildhawk

7 Psychobilly

A unique blend of rockabilly and hardcore punk ( I think). - MusicalPony

8 Jazz

Pretty underrated if you ask me. - MusicalPony

9 New Wave

I love this genre but not too many people my age listen to New Wave. - MusicalPony

10 Drum n' Bass

The Contenders

11 Chillstep

A very talented and haunting genre, which nobody seems to appreciate. - PositronWildhawk

12 Reggaeton

No way, this does not deserve attention.

13 Trance
14 Industrial Rock

Sort of like rock music but with more electronic elements to it. It's very rare and doesn't really get that much appreciation. You should check it out. It's really cool. I recommend checking out bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, or Rammstein.

15 Symphonic Metal
16 Industrial Metal

Same as Industrial Rock. Just metal with electronic beats.

17 New Age
18 Folk Metal
