Top 10 Music Genres that Have More Talent Then Pop

In my opinion there are genres that have more talent then top so let's get to it. For this list sub genres will be included.
The Top Ten
1 Classical

Classical and other genres have more talent then pop. However Classical is the genre that has even more talent to it. With Classical it sounds good, not overplayed and without it I'm not sure if music would be relevant. I'm going to be honest I'd rather listen to something from Mozart or Beethoven then something from Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry etc. because Beethoven and Mozart actually put talent into their songs!

Classical makes awesome masterpieces made by Mozart, Beethoven, and Pachelbel. It takes more talent than pop even though I'm not a fan of it. But I'm not saying that Pop music is talentless. All genres need talent

Mozart, Beethoven? Really? Why not: Vivaldi, Paganini, Schubert, nor those who make the soundtrack for games like The Elder Scrolls series?

These genres also take more talent to listen to than pop.

2 Metal

Hell yes. Doesn't necessarily need to be 1st (it doesn't QUITE take the level of creativity that classical does, though it gets pretty damn close with bands like Dream Theater, Green Carnation, and Epica), but definitely deserves 2nd place. Despite some crappy bands like about everything in Stoner Metal, most grindcore, and most of the nu metal scene, the vast majority of metal takes more talent than Twenty One Pilots or Justin Bieber would ever think of. Most artist on the radio don't deserve to lick John Petrucci, Joe Satrinani, or Buckethead's boot.

Metal is the 2nd most demanding genre after classical but in some areas metal is even harder. A classical vocal coach wrote about metal singers: "There is a visceral dramatic intensity driving this singing. Many metal singers are tenors who sustain much higher, much longer than operatic tenors are ever required to."
Also, Pavarotti's vocal range is 2 octaves, 2-1/2 notes, Whitney Houston's - 2 octaves, 4 notes, Rob Halford's range is over 4 octaves, Mike Patton's - 6 octaves, 1/2 note.

While I'm not a huge metal head myself, at least Metal has more talent then Pop music when comes to well... anything.

One of the most talented genres, next to classical.

3 Symphonic Metal

The name of this subgenre says it all and it is what you think - it combines the complexity of metal and classical.
Examples: Blind Guardian - Wheel Of Time, Sacred Worlds.

4 Speed Metal

I love this genre that much. Complex and have a diverse lyrics. Death and Satan are absurd explanation to hate this genre. Each band members are talented to their respective instruments.

It generally has a better sound then Pop music.

9 Jazz Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, United States, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and developed from roots in blues and ragtime. Jazz is seen by many as "America's classical music".

Complex and relaxing. Those jazz musicians are talented. Artists such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane are legends.

Love the picture

10 Punk Punk rock is a subgenre of rock music. It usually has rebellious lyrics and down stroked power chords played on guitars. Bad Religion, Sex Pistols, and Green Day (actually pop-punk, which is still punk in a way) are a few punk rock bands. The subgenre influenced thrash metal because of it's down stroked guitar playing and other factors.
The Contenders
11 Alternative Alternative rock is a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s. In this instance, the word "alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from mainstream rock music.

Alternative music takes a lot of talent. This is for the one who's not a fan of top 40 pop songs. Good genre anyways.

12 Funk Funk is a music genre that originated in African-American communities in the mid-1960s when African-American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and rhythm and blues (R&B).
13 Indie

15 Gospel
16 Chiptune

The absolute best examples of this genre are packed to the brim with creativity. Even chiptune that sounds somewhat similar to pop instrumentals can clearly have a lot of effort put into it, whereas all terrible pop stars have to do to make a name for themselves is yell into a microphone, autotune the noise and play it back over instrumentals they didn't even make.

A lot of it is actually more complex than you may think.

17 Rap

You need time and practice to make a rap song. Most people said that it's all about flexing and sex but that's an absurd explanation. Yes, there sre rap songs about that but there are some good rap songs especially the old school one. You need to write a good poetry and rhyming when it comes to lyrics.

HAHA Barely better then Pop music all it is singing fast and rhyming which is barely better then auto tune.

18 Progressive Rock Progressive rock is a broad genre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States throughout the mid to late 1960s.

Ok, I know you're not a fan of long songs but this genre is complex and diverse. They combine rock music with folk, classical, and jazz music. Takes more talent and need a practice.

Yeah it's complex because the musicians don't have any social lives. That's why they waste their time making these godawful 90-minute songs that no one wants to listen to.

Progressive rock/metal is more complex than even heavy metal itself

19 Blues Blues is a music genre and musical form originated by African Americans in the Deep South of the United States around the end of the 19th century.
20 Pop Rock Pop rock is a form of rock music where it emphasises more on recording craft and songwriting than the attitude. Commonly known as an alternative to rock and roll.
