11 Disco Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars.

Most of the listed genres are just derivatives of Disco anyway.

12 Eurodance

If you are a millennial like me and you are too young for 80s music but too old and mature for cheesy pop music, look to Eurodance. They were a popular and energetic form of dance music during the 1990s and 2000s. What’s good about them is that you can experiment your dance moves, even if you are not good at dancing, because they use electronic synths, but in a way that it is smooth and pays homage to its classic predecessors to keep your feet moving and dancing, unlike most of today’s dance, which is characterised by loud, buzzing sounds, where you are limited to throwing your hands in the air. Also, they have talented, but not as well known, singers (and rappers), the themes were variable (not just about love and girls), and they were, overall, made with talent, by talented artists. It’s 2018, and I am part of the minority of 15 " 20 year olds in this age that value old school music rather than the abomination they throw out today. 90S MUSIC LIVES FOREVER!
