Top 10 Music Genres We Most Hope Never Make a Comeback

The Top Ten
1 Nu Metal

Not only this genre saw bands being copycats of each other, it had some of the worst fashion fads ever.

2 Glam Metal Glam metal is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, and upbeat rock anthems.

The fashion just wouldn't work today, plus most guitar solos feel like dick-measuring contests.

3 Snap

What the heck is Snap?

4 Post-Grunge

I don't mind bands like Foo Fighters or Shinedown but some post grunge bands like Theory of a Deadman and Creed are just so awful.

"Butt rock" also counts

5 Dubstep

I don't actually intend to add this item to the list but I noticed that the Billboard 2021 year end had no electronic music at all.
I knew it was losing ground in the mainstream but I didn't imagine it would get to that stage.

It's extremely annoying.

6 Reggaeton
7 Crunkcore Crunkcore (also known as crunk punk and scrunk) is a musical fusion genre characterized by the combination of musical elements from crunk, post-hardcore, heavy metal, pop, electronic and dance music. The genre often features screamed vocals, hip hop beats, and sexually provocative lyrics. The genre developed from members of the scene subculture during the mid 2000s.

Horrible music genre that simply shouldn't exist at all.

8 Crunk
9 Big Room House
10 Bro-Country

This genre uses every unlikable country stereotype in the book

The Contenders
11 Disco Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars.

Disco got hated for apparently being perceived as racist in cultural value, which led to the Disco Demolition Night campaign in Chicago (which led to a massive riot). However many say that disco came back during 2020, though as the 2000's started, a "genre" known as nu-disco came out. Disco's a fabulous genre & it'll never get old to be honest.

12 Slap House

Slap house is boring

13 Hip Hop

Hip hop is very annoying and has very shallow lyrics.

Hip hop is still popular. Why?

14 Blues Blues is a music genre and musical form originated by African Americans in the Deep South of the United States around the end of the 19th century.

Blues is not so common nowadays.

15 Metalcore

Deathcore also counts

16 Post-Britpop

What the hell is this?

17 Pop Music

Most of it is pure garbage.

18 Emo Emo is a style of rock music characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace.

Emo never died, it was just taking a nap, and it's back for the rawring '20s. It's 2021 and I'm here rocking some side swept bangs, low rise black skinny jeans, band tees, a pair of knee high Converse, and a studded belt, rawr XD.

19 Post-Hardcore
20 Heavy Metal Heavy Metal music is a sub-genre of rock music that originated in the late 1960s-70s, featuring more distorted and heavier instrumental work and darker lyrical themes. Heavy Metal broke into mainstream success with bands such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Metallica.

Other notable Heavy Metal bands include Judas Priest, Anthrax, Testament, System of a Down, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Avenged... read more

Metal is still going strong and it's not dying down. Whoever added this is probably one of those people who love pop/rap and hates Metal.

Please don't make this ear-bleeding garbage make a comeback.
